Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Ace on the other hand, understood the merits of not being smushed into little cubes of garbage and bone, and was at least practical enough to keep to himself while he took the help. He wasn't feeling very patient all the same, and since Coop couldn't cut him off standing at the bottom, the serval simply, begrudgingly, hoisted himself on the eagle's shoulders (whoops, hope that didn't make much of a mess) before climbing his way to the top. His teeth were grinding, but they were hidden by the rest of his face.

Geoff ground his teeth just once.

He crossed his arms, uncrossed them, hastily glanced to the rope, looked away, looked back, considered it all, then finally gave out a single, frustrated huff.

"Whatever."

Marching through the sea of garbage, he shoved up onto the rope right after Ace, legs knocking against Coop as he hefted himself up. A scowl was cemented on his lips all the way up.

Coop squeezed his eyes shut as the cat narrowly avoided stepping on his face. Geared into action by the indignity of being used as a stepping stool, he huffed out through his nostrils and grabbed the rope savagely, pulling himself up after the hedgehog by great, big, orangutan-armed lengths, he climbed up towards the shrimpy, pasty-faced cyber-punk kid that smirked on the ledge above.

"We'll be seeing each other plenty, I'm sure," he uttered confidently, no, theatrically, over his shoulder, back turned. A nearby twenty-foot ladder led to a pipe-like tunnel that directed away from the group's objective. His coat fluttered as he bounded up the span of it with what seemed like contact with only two rungs, before perching on the railing at the top in a crouch, then standing to full (not terribly impressive) height precariously, but steadily, on the inches-narrow surface.

He pushed his sunglasses back a nudge and assumed the proper down-the-nose viewing angle.

"Besides—everyone should work together in times like these. I'm just doing my part."

The others probably arrived at the top of their rope climb just in time to hear those lines, and see the horrible, shining smile that accompanied them.

Not in possession of such a useful thing as a douchebagometer, the bubble-headed kitty rolled energetically from heel to toe, watching their rescuer climb up and away. Apparently smitten, she dipped her head in reply to the brunette's unusually mature statement of honor and duty.

"Well, I hope we do see a lot more of each other!" Tabitha chirped, before turning back to her considerably less pleased posse, ready to help anyone in need out of the compactor. "And thank you again, for saving us!~"

"Good thing your friend came along," she blithely observed to the silently raging group.

Geoff grabbed each rung of the ladder with overly sufficient grip, feet nearly stomping with loud clangs on the metal all the way up. He managed to catch a majority of the feline's cheery thank yous... but then she mentioned the word "friend".

Friend.

Tabitha would soon find herself the victim of a long, long stare, one end of the hedgehog's lip twitching just a bit. Next was the driest possible "hah" that resounded from his lips before he finally heaved the rest of his body up the ladder, brushing past her.

He used the rest of the time of waiting to glare at the kid. It seemed he was doing his damnedest to not sock him in the face.

Matt Edit: Just trying to prevent a minor scenery collapse, so I thought I'd make a note here: After Tabitha climbed the rope, Seven turned away, then went and climbed some other ladder. Tabitha did not follow. Probably best to assume Sheff did not mean to have Geoff also climb the ladder then stare down at a Tabitha who did not climb the ladder. Perhaps the ladder was confused for the rope? Regardless, the ladder was just intended to be a means of exiting Seven from this scene, and not a route for everyone to follow. (The ladder is also not to be confused with the rope they climbed. It is just a ladder elsewhere up there, and not important to your story unless you intend to chase Seven. It's okay if you want to do that. Could even be interesting. Just don't follow by accident, or things may turn awkward and/or dull.)

That is all. Sheff, feel free to remove this note if you edit.

Rodolf, having heaved himself up before the shark, stood impassively, glaring intently -- intensely, even -- at Seven. He had only known him for such a short time, after all... but, y'know, first impressions are everything.

Mako was, indeed, only just in time to hear those words and see that smarmy, smarmy smile. His face fell visibly. "This day is not improving as it goes on," he remarked, wiping a bit of stray garbage off of his harm... and then, Tabitha made that wonderful mistake of calling Seven a friend.
"Friend?" the fish repeated in an almost instantaneous outburst, looking... distressed.

Rodolf snorted. His hands were clenched into fists, and he seemed to be echoing Geoff's unspoken desire to lurch forward and make the boy's face intimately familiar with his knuckles. His feet were planted firmly where he stood, however, and he didn't budge.

Coop’s inferno rage had rescinded by the time he reached the cloistered space within the immense piston mechanism. His rageface had been replaced with a low-grade, suspicious scowl.

“Hey, horn man,” he held up a interrupting hand at Rodolf, “hold on a sec.”

He jerked his chin at the youth standing smugly at the top of the ladder:

“How’d you get here?"

However, Seven was evasive that day, as always, and ignored Coop's question from his high-overhead ladder perch. "I think you should focus how you're going to get where you're going, instead," he said snottily to the eagle, and pointed toward a nearby tunnel, over which was some stenciled text.

"Isn't that it?" he asked with just a tinge of "duh" to his voice, as if they should have already been going that way without his direction.

Geoff, for more of Seven's sake than his own, had remained somewhat oblivious to the kid, although his ears did pay attention as their previous antagonist offered direction. He glanced to the pointing hand before observing the text put above the tunnel.

"...hmph."

He stalked off down the tunnel without a word, barely acknowledging the kid. The devil would be skating in hell before he'd bother giving gratitude to Seven's assistance.

Likewise to Geoff, Ace had adorned a mask of nescience in regards to the smarmy little brat. Even saving their own lives hardly even seemed equal payment for the things he had, and would have done before. (Not to mention he looked like a total tool wearing an outfit he could hardly fill out.)

He looked at the tunnel's title with suspicious eyes, as if even being referenced by Seven labelled it as an accomplice in his deeds, and then back to Seven himself. "Even if it was," he began, not daring to give the boy any additional info to wield for, or against them, "What's it to you?"

"Well, someone needs to free the animals in there before my bombs detonate," said Seven as if it was all plain as day. Insert smirk. "That's what you were here to do, anyway, isn't it? It might as well be you. I need to finish planting charges up above."

"Really," he sniffed once and tilted his head back, "it wouldn't kill you to do a little dirty-work."

Ugh, puns. But with that and a fluttery swoosh, he was gone.

"Bombs," said a nodding Ace, and repeated it as if it were the solution to an itching question, complete with a quick rise and fall of the arms at his side. "Bombs! Of course."

Tabitha was utterly bewildered as to why the group as a whole seemed determinedly unhappy, despite -- or perhaps, in spite of their timely rescue from certain two-dimensional doom. At the moment, the fair furred feline simply didn't know enough about the situation to justifiably do more than cast imploringly confused stares around the room in the interim. Only a handful of things were immediately clear: One, they had just been saved by a mysterious human boy with a questionable fashion sense. Two, pretty much the entire room hated him for reasons unknown. Three, aside from saving them, he'd apparently also gone and done what they'd initially set out to do (that being to figuratively hit Eggman to how much he bled), leaving only menial, and far less dangerous clean-up duty to them.

In the end, the cat figured she must have been missing something significant because she'd yet to find anything about the kid's actions terribly objectionable, but the time to mull over such things was obviously not now.

"Right, well, we don't know how long we have, so we'd better get moving," she added onto Ace's evident displeasure, setting off toward the indicated tunnel at a brisk pace. "He's already done the hard part for us. All we need to do is find the animals and break the containers."
