Sonic Spindash RP is closed.

Founded 05/25/2002 by three friends; ended 09/19/2012.

It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Coop jumped at the sight of the spider, cracking his head on the inside of the manhole.

He muttered something customarily surly at this speedbump, and briefly removed himself from the mouth of the hole again, turning to look up at the group.

“Come on,” he began, "there’s—someone down here and—“ Then he stopped. He stood up.

“Hey,” he said to Midian, “hey, you: you look like crap."

"Cheers," replied the jackal gloomily with a head-throbbing squint as he dropped inside.

As their rag-tag party reconvened, looking haggard and worse for wear, but alive to be sure, Tabitha sighed in shaky relief. She was visibly on edge, but was quick to pounce on the first opportunity to split that presented itself. She headed for the manhole at the great eagle's urging, but stopped short of the ladder.

"Can you make it down alright?" she asked, throwing a concerned look to the serval.

Ha ha, you tool,” replied the Eagle with poor grace, beginning to wedge himself into the man-hole, slantways, in preparation for his descent, “do you need anything?"

At the bottom of the ladder, Midian encountered the spider-guy, jolted, turned away, stopped, then turned around again, realizing that his shock would be rude. (To his credit, his eyes were still adjusting, and spider-folks were not individuals he commonly encountered at such close proximity in enclosed spaces.) At a loss for what to say to the arachnid or the eagle, the disoriented and mildly claustrophobic jackal mumbled something uninterpretable under his breath (possibly in another language entirely), excavated a metal flask from his bag, unscrewed the top, and took a long swig.

"More," he much-belatedly replied to Coop, having emptied whatever remained in one great gulp.

Bahah, hahhaagghhgh,” the Eagle said, a sharp laugh turning into a mildly anguished groan, as he wedged his still-noticeably dented shoulder through the definitely slightly-too-small-for-him hole. He dropped down the ladder in increments of a few rungs a drop, making it to the bottom quickly enough, but controlled enough not to bowl over anyone underneath.

“Maybe we can do something about that.”

He rubbed his shoulder again.

"I'll be fine, really. ...As soon as I take a proper shower," answered Ace with a worn out smile, followed by a deep, controlled breath through the nose. With the adrenaline finally fading away, he began to discover himself of how that wasn't entirely true-- but he'd live. Especially if they were all heading to where he thought they were heading.

In fact, he was almost uncharacteristically unconcerned with just what they were being led to, and thinking oddly serene, disjointed thoughts. Like how he couldn't wait for the next opportunity to drink a soda. If Caz was keeping the apartment tidy. Was his cell phone still intact? Because if it was, it must be made of rock.

But those thoughts, as they always did, eventually led to darker places. Was there anything to drink here? Did Caz still have a home? Where was Rock and Jam in all this?

Of course, nobody could read his mind. But maybe it was his turn to be the silent one, at least for a moment.

Shark and unicorn had followed in relative silence, simply eager to get away from where they had been; Rodolf was the first of the two to drop down into the sewer alongside, and...

Promptly had a little jolt, rearing his head back and raising his eyebrows. Strange little spider in the sewers. Okay. That was... odd. (Thought the unicorn, though to be fair it was an entirely different set of oddness at work, here).
Wasn't this just the most interesting day?

Standing still for the first time in a good while, only now did the horned horse pause and realize exactly what they had gone through, on the whole. ... with that thought, he felt distinctly as though his extremities were made of lead. Lead that was incredibly sore.

Mako, in his turn, dropped down alongside the others after a moment or two. He turned around from his descent on the latter, blinked a couple times to adjust to the light, and rested his gaze on the spidery stranger.
He blinked a couple times, and stared for another few seconds.

And then?
"... coooool."

As soon as the last person was in, whoever that happened to be, the spider nailed the red button, and the shaft above closed with a mechanical whir and snap, covered over by what looked like some sort of rubble-camouflaged blast door. Essentially, it made the manhole look like a hole to nothing but a cave-in from above.

"Whew," he puffed, either out of relief, or because of the sheer amount of dust they brought down with them from the collapsing structure. "Well. Nice job up there!" he blurted, maybe a little awkwardly. (What does one say about that, anyway?) "People call me Otto."

He then proceeded to energetically shake their hands. Like, practically everybody's hand that he could reach, all at once. Part of the convenience of being a spider.
