It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Surely enough, Tabitha's keen eyes saw the very conspicuously Eggman-affiliated structure cropping up from quite a distance off, but despite her earnest efforts, she was unable to head the vehicle off, and jogged gradually to a stop a couple buildings away. She shook her head slowly back and forth, both anxiety and confusion marring her features, as she watched as the driver take their captive inside.

"That's a hospital," the cat told her spiny green accompaniment in a tone clear and even; exactly as breathless as collecting her morning newspaper left her.

She sighed, running a hand through her bangs, her tail lashing frustratedly behind her.

"It's not the worst place they could've gone, and getting in's easy enough, but getting out with a high-profile like that bat will still be..." The girl paused, biting her lip in search of an appropriate adjective. Stupid? Injudicious? Certifiable? All valid choices, but she eventually chose, "Risky."

There seemed to be a good enough reason that Rodolf hadn't been darting along the rooftops with the cat and hedgehog-- either he couldn't be bothered, or simply couldn't, reach the higher ground in a timely manner. No, instead, he had chosen to duck out (and quickly, at that) and dart along what methods he could, hoping dearly that Coop's distraction would provide enough metaphorical cover. (Moreover, he figured the big hulking mass of man that was the eagle really didn't need his assistance, and he didn't want to get caught in the crossfire.)

After Tabitha stopped, the unicorn suddenly seemed to pop up out of nowhere, after a zig-zagging mix of bounces and scrambling climbs from ground-level. It wasn't done nimbly, and led to there being a bit of a wait between Tabitha's stop and Rodolf's entering the scene again.

He let out a few heavy breaths as he caught up to himself, standing up straight after a moment of hunching over. "All I heard of that," he said, shading his eyes to watch as the vehicle made itself scarce, "was 'risky'." He sounded a mite tired, but by the time he had finished speaking that simple sentence, his tone had evened out for the most part. "Is anything we could have come here to do not?"

It wasn't a verbal response to the simian's instructions, but Tau had responded. Several small, seemingly autonomous 'cables' slipped from his left forearm, which all proceeded to make their way to the sack o alien tech, some wiggling their way into it as others warped around the sack's top and dragged it closer to their robotic source. It was needless to say Tau was more than likely going to inspect the foreign tech while the others were preoccupied.

As Rock moved Rouge, she reacted faintly. A finger twitched. After a moment or two, the Bat began to breathe deeper. Her face crinkled in subdued concern, neural impulses fighting to register as emotions, as she struggled to open her eyes.

Finally, Rouge’s eyes opened. She looked dazedly at the ceiling. Then she focused, and looked at Rock. She stared in mild shock at the gigantic monkey head which bobbed between her and the distant ceiling like some kind of astral tiki god.

Then she smiled a long, slow smile, and closed her eyes again.

“Oh, hi there, you,” she murmured.

"I think 'risky' is something we've already excelled at," replied the hedgehog, hands on his hips as he looked to the hospital, throwing Rodolph a glance. "We're already in this city, for one."

Geoff sighed, now debating whether this "rescue mission" was particularly worth it. How important was retrieving the bat anyway? Tails had shown great distress over her well being earlier, but otherwise, he couldn't see beyond that. He concluded it was pointless to back out now, though, seeing how far they had traversed the city's buildings already.

"From how I see it, this is all going to depend what sort of reaction we're going to get out of those three," he said, starting to elaborate on the thought. "We're capable of handling a robot or two, but if they decide to turn on us, well, things are going to get a bit more tense fast."

The hedgehog paused, a certain perspective coming forward.

"But, ya know, maybe they have the right idea. Getting her medical treatment. That crash site wasn't pretty."

Rock's eyes flicked down at the bat a couple times as he traipsed along through the lobby.

"... Shh."

He stopped at the front desk and deposited her on the waiting stretcher.

"Oh, my," gasped the receptionist-bot in a tone like a hairdresser who had just heard juicy gossip. "Is that—"

"Agent Rouge, yeah," the primate interrupted. "She needs some attention, now."

"No kidding... Hurry up, then!" urged the robot, gesturing erratically at the console on the front of her counter with an ink pen, while the stretcher started rolling away, attended to by a couple of the white uniforms. "Swipe your ID if you want credit, hm?"

Rock tugged his card from his belt and did as he was told, but curiously echoed, "Credit?"

"You want emblems for the capture, don't you?" asked the robot impatiently.

He turned aside, glancing between the robot and the departing medical crew, then leaned back a little just to subtly crane his neck and see down the hall they were taking Rouge toward. "'Course," he mumbled unaffectedly. Thumbs hanging from his pockets, he ambled away mid-turn—a couple steps backwards at first, then sideways, before fully facing and heading for the front door at a pace more deliberate.

Meanwhile, somewhere way back there, Coop's hideous mistreatment continued. (Whether this meant the hideous mistreatment Coop received or that he committed was up for debate, however.)

*Pop-bang pow-crash munch-clomp...*

Robots were spilling little animals like candy out of piñatas as they popped and burst to pieces with each flail of Coop's mighty fists. Most of the critters scurried away, but at least three or so particularly grateful Flickies felt it necessary to try to affectionately land on Mama Coop's head and shoulders in the middle of the ongoing struggle. The bumping continued unabated.

However, it seemed one orange robot, clutching a bulky, coconut-shaped grenade, had a mind to put an end to it all, regardless of the collateral damage it would do to its own. Didn't it just figure that such a robot would be a monkey?

*Peeeew...*

In went the Kiki's fizzling-fuzed explosive.

3... 2... 1...

Shifting in her seat to peer at the source of the indistinct noise behind her via the rearview mirror, Jam's lower eyelids crept upward along with her brows at the sight that met her.

"Thaaaat's not creepy at all."

The intrusive, slithering mess of cables suddenly all up in their contraband's business seemed to be a feature of Tau's that the monkey was really happier not knowing about, if only evidenced by the passenger side door suddenly flinging open.

"I'll uh, just leave you guys alone," the punch hued primate coughed in parting as she leapt from the van. With her hands shoved ill-fittingly into her pockets, she stood rooted to the spot, staring resolutely away from the van.

If Tabby was at all alarmed by Rodolf's sudden reappearance, it was hard to tell; she merely blinked, dipping her head in acknowledgement of both his and the hedgehog's initial rebuttal.

"Sounds like an awful lot of 'we don't know's and variables," sighed the sand cat. Her yellow eyes glinted in the retreating sunlight as she edged closer to the end of the roof, casting a long, calculating stare at the medical facility. At last, with a shake of her head, she concluded, "Still, we're not getting anything done standing around here. We won't know anything until we get down there, and this isn't getting any safer."

With just enough of a pause to punctuate, the feline's ears laid back against her head as she stepped forward, and understatedly walked off the side of the building. Landing with a muffled crunch of gravel beneath her sneakers, Tabitha rose fluidly from her landing crouch, jerking her head to the side in a wordless, "follow me" gesture, and then strolled casually out of the alley and onto the street.

The lurkers outside either waited too long, or just long enough, depending on what they wanted to accomplish. If they had hoped to catch Rock inside the premises, they failed. If they had hoped to avoid him entirely, they succeeded. The front doors whirred open, he strolled right out, and with just a smile, wave, and point to the van to cue Jam to hop back in, he silently made his way to the driver's side, took a seat, and slammed the door.

As soon as the other monkey was in, as long as no one suddenly had a change of heart and tried to stop them, the van's hoverjets activated, and it made a whooshing departure.

And took out a fire hydrant.

"Haa. Thought this thing hovered higher than that."

"...guess she has a point."

Not wishing to be left behind, Geoff nonchalantly followed suit and simply fell off the building, handling the landing with a bending of the knees. Glancing briefly upward back up to the unicorn, he eventually fell in step with the feline as they exited the alley. Stuffing his hands in his pockets in a casual manner, he looked around the street, his attention more or less focused on the hospital, but still keeping an eye out for anything hostile.

Then there went the fire hydrant.

"That looks like it could be a suitable distraction," he muttered to Tabitha (and Rodolph, if he had caught up by that point) as they walked along, eying the water that now was spewing everywhere along the side of the street, doing his best not to glance at the vehicle that had caused the damage.

Rodolf muttered something along the lines of "she's insane" as Tabitha walked straight off the building as though she were taking a morning stroll, before he leapt down himself after the hedgehog. Perhaps it was some sort of renegade hero thing, but he had trouble simply walking off, and while he wasn't making a show of it, there was something about his jump off the building that might evoke mental comparisons to superheroes, perhaps.
Landing in a crouch and pushing himself to his feet, he followed after Geoff not a second after he emerged onto the street, walking a step and a half behind the other two.

"So how do either of you suggest we storm the castle?" he had said as he caught up, at a volume just barely meant to be heard. "Or on the other hand, are we just going to run in, guns blazing and making fools--"
And then there was no more fire hydrant. His eyebrows slid up, and for a fraction of a second his gaze followed the monkey-piloted van on its course, before he snapped back to the cat and hedgehog.

"My question remains."

In a nod to the problems of the group, a building in the distance had the good grace to explode with extreme violence.

A bright, eye-searing flare that gradually cooled down into a plume of flames lit up the distant skyline. Moments later, reaching across the city to the trio, came the sound of the blast.

K-krooooooommmmmmboomROOMBOOMrumblerumblerumbleboooomrumblemumbleboom.

There was the sound of distant sirens. Robots across the city turned to watch the flames.

Coop's fight was clearly going well.

With the none-too-subtle trouble in the distance, Rodolf froze, paused, turned around, and could not help one eyebrow from becoming distinctly cocked. His question was forgotten for the time being.

"That was either very good, or very bad."

Pieces of debris began to fall out of the sky. A robot arm plummeted past the building, slapping a street light on its way down. The street light shattered in a shower of glass.

A head fell out of the sky further down the street and made a small crater in the sidewalk.

Tails fluttered out of the sky like a foam helicopter toy, dropping with relative speed down to the lower levels of the hospital. He landed on the sidewalk outside, and cautiously looked around. Seeing the street around was relatively empty. He approached the hospital. He peeeeeered insine into the lobby.

Robots. A pair of Egg Pawns framed the door.

Watching from above, the three urban acrobats would see the fox recoil, slump, look around, look harder. He brightened up. He trotted across the street to a shallow crater left by an errant piece of robot that had been rocketed into the area by the distant explosion. He retrieved the dented head shell, and shook it. Charred electronics fell out onto the pavement below with a tinkle. Then he veerry carefully put the helmet over his head.

He marched up to the hospital doors, and inside.
