Rodolf visibly tensed and bristled-- even before the eagle had lifted him up into the air. It tended to happen when such things transpired as had happened outside. As soon as his feet were on the floor again, he had made to return, for his own part, to the crowd. He stepped beside the bird.
"Do you think that moving the ship will do anything?" he said after a moment, casting a sideways glance at Coop-- though through narrowed eyes and teeth that he seemed to be trying very hard not to clench. "It didn't seem that we landed of crew volition, if you gather. They might be able to interfere again." He spoke in a relatively low voice, such that only the eagle (and possibly anyone else standing within a few feet of him) would be able to hear him.

"Shut up," said Coop, with no particular malice and without meeting the unicorn's gaze.
"Does anyone know how to fly this?" he repeated, loudly, to the passengers at large. He began walking through the ship in the direction of the airlock that exited onto the gantry.

Suffice to say, the serval had trouble overcoming the whole ordeal. But he didn't stay in one place for long. He'd stopped fumbling and stuttering, but was still plainly concerned... Maybe even betrayed. He spent a second or two pointing his slanted brows at Rock's backside, and then a few more in Jam's direction... but he had nothing to say.
So with a distraught sigh and a shake of his head, he turned tail and marched back to the ship, eyes on his shoes, scraping back at the fur on his head.
When he stepped inside and tiredly plopped his back on the airlock door, it was obvious to see that he was not the only one who knew the situation. He drew a long, deep breath, pushed himself off the wall, wiped at his nose, pivoted his head in Rodolf's direction, and masked any sentiments behind a neutral, but fierce mask of resolution.
"...We gotta get outta here," he spoke grimly. "Where's Badge?"

"Hey, Ace," said Coop, approaching the serval with a look of express concern on his face, "what's going on out there, is Eggma—"
He thrust out an arm and grabbed at Ace's collar, jerking up and toward himself as he slammed his head forward at Ace's face.

Jam's brows furrowed steeply.
Not because of Rock's tiresome poking at her youthful ambiguity of gender, either (which merely earned a sideways glance and a brief gesture), but because glares at backsides -- when one is not used to them, that is -- tend to produce an uncomfortable sort of tingling sensation that the smaller of the monkeys shrugged off as best she could. It was true that she didn't like the vibe she got off Ace's incredulity, but there was little she could do about it at the moment.
As she fell into step behind Rock, she realized that the serval would simply be the first in a very long line, and deflated with a belabored sigh. Clearly, it was going to be one of those... days? Weeks? Months? Did the last ones ever even end? Who even knew anymore?

Rodolf did not respond to Coop's laconic retort to him. The unicorn then turned his head and looked at Ace with a peculiar sort of uncertain expression, just for a second. He opened his mouth a bit, and looked prepared to say something. Without warning, he suddenly narrowed his eyes a small amount, and turned back away. He proceeded to walk (with a great amount of purpose) towards the helm once more.
And then behind him, Coop went loose-cannon cop on the edge on Ace.
Rodolf caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye. Whether from feeling that the bird could handle it himself, or just good old-fashioned not caring, he couldn't seem to be bothered to look any closer. He stayed the course, as it were.

OOC: Sorry for the late post guys. I sleep uber early these days because I work morning shift. Makes it harder to post during peak hours most days...
Hoji straightened his jacket when Rock told him to stay put. So, okay. Maybe he wasn't officially on the crew roster, but he felt he put enough hours in to be regular. As the situation unfolded, there was little he could do. He went back inside.
As the exchange occured between Coop and Rodolf, Hoji perked up, but didn't say anything as Coop wandered off. He peered over toward the airlock where Coop just...attacked Ace out of nowhere.
"Uh... I don't know what it is you're doing, but..." He trialed off and pointed a thumb sideways toward the cockpit, "If you want me to drive this thing, I would appreciate no headbutts to my pretty face. Thanks."
With that out of the way, he headed in that direction and eyed the controls for a moment. He was a trained pilot as shown in previous engagements in space, so he knew what he was doing. Before anything, he shouted back through the cockpit door, "Close the airlock, please!"
With that, he started'er up which caused the engines to hum. With little time to spare before the tractors turned back on, he simply pushed forward with the acceleration, not waiting for any confirmation of the airlock being closed.
At first, there was a tug of resistance, but that was nothing a little more power couldn't fix. The arm that held the ship at dock would give way allowing them to escape.
Once out, Hoji immediately switched to evasive maneuvers, just in case they tried to beam them back in, flying low at skyscraper level, flying between buildings like a pro.

"Th'f--"
Any objections Ace might've had to being manhandled were unceremoniously silenced when Coop's mighty noggin was slammed short into his own. With a silent shout that went no further than his chest, the serval quickly, harshly pushed himself free and stepped back, too busy pressing the back of his hand to his face to respond. Yes, Ace was indeed merely mortal; on top of his latest injuries, his nose trickled blood, and his eyes even began to water (surely from the sour sting of a headbutt). Yes, Ace was indeed merely mortal. Even he had a point to reach before he lost his cool.
He hurled himself with a reckless, but blisteringly fast lunge knuckles-first, aiming to plow his fist straight into the eagle's crooked beak. "What's your &*#$ING PROBLEM, Coop!?"
Hit or miss, it wasn't long before Badge's evasive maneuvers threw him off balance and into a the same wall he emerged from. But he stood himself up all the same, glaring daggers at the eagle all the while. "You wanna ^%#in' start somethin'!?"

Coop's head snapped to the right, whiplashed by the surprise punch, but at the same time one meaty fist soared upward to latch onto ace's wrist.
"You're an idiot—" he spat, cantilevering his head around to look at the serval again. The ship pitched, inertia pulling everyone towards the rear, and Coop took the opportunity to fall at Ace with the intent of pinning him against the wall.
"—if you think I didn't hear you out there."
(Assuming that he had the cat effectively sandwiched against the wall,) Coop placed a palm on Ace's jaw-line and put his weight into flat-shoving him towards the floor. Following up with a swift yet stubby-legged kick to the face for good measure.

Buzzes from overstressed motors and groans and shrieks from bending, warping, ripping metal assaulted the ears (and, more aptly, microphones) of those standing by as the docking arms that held the ships in place wrenched loose from their mounts, showering sparks and emitting the stench of a tremendous electrical fire. While the Egg Pawns looked up and watched as the ships flew away, the Egg Gunners were not content to just stand by. Some actually tumbled to their doom as the boarding ramp was torn out from under them, but the rest activated their thrusters and launched one after another, giving chase.
Colored streaks zipped out from their beam rifles, rapidly and mercilessly pelting the two ships from behind as their 75 or so users' sights raked gunfire all over the place. They didn't really have firepower intended to take down ships of such size, especially not two of them, but given enough time, it could be possible for them to whittle the escapees down—especially if enough hits went into their engines. Worse yet, they were even catching some gunfire from the ground, as scattered patrol robots that couldn't even give chase took potshots at them. They had to get outta there, get on the ground, and fight those things off, but the question was: where to go.
Defer to the South Island article on the forums for a map. You guys can seriously choose where you want your characters to end up. So as to not drop you completely in the dark, though, I'll throw out obvious options right now:
1. Land somewhere in town. (Consider this the "HARD" route, as the city is crawling with opposition. Getting away is possible, but not easy.) 2. Fly east to Yellow Desert (Less opposition, but expect to have to abandon the ships, as there will be nowhere to hide them. May not find a lot of assistance there. Probably won't want to stay there.) 3. Fly farther east to the Marble Ruins / Marble Mountains (Sort of the middle of nowhere, but with lots of places to hide the ships, and relatively easy access to Spring City.) 4. Fly all the way to Spring City (Hostile territory like Gigalopolis, so it could be risky.) 5. Fly northeast to Pumpkin Hill (The "???" route; it's nearly sunset, so if they go there, they better have some specific refuge in mind, otherwise, Eggman will be the least of their problems.) 6. Fly north to the middle of nowhere (Tails' workshop and the former Angel Island crash site is somewhere up there on the cliffs, but not much else. There's also the backside of the island, but that'd be a pretty dull place to get stranded.) 7. Fly southeast to Emerald Town (Less opposition; small town. Lots of forest, ridges, cliffs, etc. Could be a good place to hide the ships, but they'll basically be in the middle of nowhere.) 8. Fly wayyy northeast to Starlight City (Probably too far, too open, too high altitude; suicide)

Meanwhile, Rock watched the getaway from the ground, eyes following the ships as they darted away... He kind of pursed his lips, raised his brows, and made a "tch" noise.
"Hope we didn't leave anything important on there," he mused, and started slowly ambling away.

Far less nonplussed about the whole thing than Rock was, Jam hesitated, perched half-way through a stride on the heel of one foot, as she stared after the ships, a troubled expression creasing her brow.
"Do you--"
Abruptly, she started, and abruptly she stopped, breathing a heavy sigh out her nose, and pursing her lips. Eventually, she shook her head and continued along, jogging several steps forward to reclaim the gap her dawdling had created.
"So," she huffed conversationally, craning her head back, and lifting her face to the sky. "Hired gun to the evil supreme dictator overlord of the world."
"...Heh, and Lenny said I'd never amount to anything."

Geoff had remained idle in the helm of the ship as the trio of the two monkeys and cat ventured out, letting them go test their fates, although he did feel at unease for them. Just one glance outside the open airlock only strengthened his worries, silently glad he was not the one needed to march between the small army of robots outside.
Otherwise, he didn't attempt to eavesdrop on whatever conversation occurred outside the ship's walls, only retreating back to his former seat in the helm, fingers tapping rapidly in succession on the arm rest. None of the situation felt like it would end well. Couldn't end well. Not with that scowl-inducing flag still lit on the monitor and the array of armed machines on the catwalk beyond the ship.
And there he was when the activity behind him suddenly erupted with noise with Coop and Ace's fight and harsh words. The hedgehog was instantly on his feet, prepared to intervene if necessary (he didn't have a clue what was the spark that had started the fire between them) only to find the appearance of Badge now in his way. Stepping to the side to allow his entrance to the helm, he returned to trying to reach the aggressive fighters.
Before he could say a word, the ship lurched beneath his feet as Badge suddenly took off quite forcibly, hearing the muted sounds of metal ripping to pieces below them. Staggering a bit, he abandoned his objective and walked right back into the helm, grasping their new pilot's shoulder for a brief moment. He really wasn't all too surprised with the attempt of escape, but already it was getting his heart thumping, knowing full well what sort of danger lay below them. The gun wielding, heartless machine kind.
"Question," he said with some urgency to Badge. "Just going with the solid doubt that there ain't any friendly territory any more... but where are we going to land?"

Rodolf had made his way back to the helm by the time Badge took off-- and with a mighty lurch of the ship, he clumsily adjusted his balance to avoid becoming incredibly familiar with the floor. The sounds of Ace and Coop were somewhere that seemed farther away than they were; he was staring, hard, into space, until Geoff spoke.
"Not to state the obvious," the unicorn said, looking between Geoff and Badge, "but may I suggest we don't try to land in a city. If anywhere is going to be safe, it's going to be fairly remote." He paused, and furrowed his brows for a second-- Yellow Desert? ... maybe a bit too remote; there'd be no use in going somewhere just to wander aimlessly therefrom. Rodolf quickly tried to bring up a mental image of a map of South Island, and pondered for a moment.
He looked at Wild Badge. "Do you know where the Marble Ruins are?"
Well, it was a suggestion, at least.

Far be it from Ace not to expect retaliation after slugging a man in the jaw. Even as he pressed himself off the ground, the serval had enough sense about him to duck out of Coop's path, however narrowly.
"%&$# you!" he blurted eloquently. "You're an idiot if you still think I'm with them!"
