It didn't take long after the aerial drone's crash before Tau made revealed his existence with a forceful landing (which in itself was enough to leave a small, shallow impact crater of cracked pavement) roughly in-between the downed drone and the organics he'd become familiar with, grenade launcher still held in his right hand.
As he rose from his knelt landing position, he turned towards Rock and crew just long enough to raise his left arm towards them and quickly proceeded to douse those whom he knew with water ( He'd made sure to aim for their heads as best as possible) from the same forearm retractable nozzle previously used to discharge fire some hours ago. It wasn't much, but it was the only thing he had to offer to help remove the effects of the gas. Unfortunately for the strangers, the same assistance wasn't extended to them.
With his 'relief effort' performed in only a matter of moments, Tau turned his attention towards the remains of the aerial drone and made haste for its remains. Upon reaching them, Tau proceeded to tear away at the wreckage not too unlike a predator claiming its kill. What the A.I. was after wasn't some form of artificial meal, but the the drone's own A.I. core. It would attempt to overpower the no-doubt weaker grade A.I. ( if it was still functioning ) in an effort to effectively 'infect' the drone's core. Should such succeed, he'd follow up by pumping the drone for any and all information he deemed of worth and would then collect the A.I. core program in an isolated data storage unit in his body.
With his focus on the A.I. settled (likely in only a few seconds) Tau would shift his search the the rest of the wreckage to look for any thing else of use, to both himself and possibly his organic allies. (Such as the craft's medical supplies.). Finding both salvageable equipment and weapons in addition to some medical supplies Tau would collect a large first aid kit from the latter and proceed to toss it towards Rock's location.
"I am not currently designed to to offer medical assistance. You will have to make due with this."

Not one to stick around when little terrorist mongrels were pulling out gas masks, Jam took her leave like a bat out of hell, and evidenced by Ace's blared warning, she wasn't the only one. This made for a very poor reception for Seven's would-have-been salt-in-the-wound lightning bolt, as bedlam ensued, and the crowd scattered.
Doubtful, too, was that anyone had managed to hear the boy's parting words over the roar and tumult of panic and pain. Thankfully, the slighter of the primates had managed to clear the drop zone with only mildly puffy eyes, and minimal irritation, but not without a pang of guilt upon noticing what her whiter counterpart had chosen to do with his window of escape.
But chaos returned swiftly to neutrality with the enemies' flight, and the rain-soaked red monkey jogged back towards her decidedly more selfless boyfriend with an apologetic grimace (after a briefly concerned glance at Tau's carnal scavenger hunt).
"You okay?" she asked, peering anxiously into Rock's face.

It all just happened too fast.
Vito was beginning to prep himself to start the show, as it were, before the sudden blast of electricity rocked everybody's world over yonder, followed immediately by the torrential downpour of tear gas. From his position, he watched with a snarl as Seven fled the scene amidst the chaos. Despite how things didn't quite... go the way he had been expecting, Vince's partner-in-crime managed to pick up on a sweet little detail...
The HEXAeco TV Tower, eh...?
Vito pulled out his walkie, and quickly left the scene. If he could just get there before the rest of those idjits, then surely he'd have a better chance at retrieving the emerald, right...? Too easy, surely.
"Hey. Heeey. Hey! Vince! Listen up, change o' plans..! Hey, you listenin'?! This is important!"

Rock initially looked a little ticked off when he got doused by Tau, if only by flinch reaction, but he soon realized it was... actually a helpful effort, and he felt a little better for it (if not a little colder). Shortly thereafter the first aid kit clonked across the ground surprisingly near Rock's position (near enough to almost hit him). The robot had a good arm.
Jam would find Rock down on a knee, sifting through the kit, holding up its various contents and squinting blindly at them. He replied with a quick, frustrated-sounding "Yeah, I'm fine," before standing with a couple items and stepping over to the fountain.
For whatever reason, he partially loaded a needleless plastic syringe with liquid antacid, then filled it the rest of the way with fountain water, shook it up, and started squirting it in his eyes. (Desperate times called for desperate measures, and for whatever reason, Rock just knew weird stuff like this.) Without further ado, he then proceeded to dunk his head in the fountain, gulp in a mouthful of delicious chlorine-y water, and rather gracelessly spray it out his nose and eyes. It wasn't a pretty thing to behold, but he seemed to feel better afterward. Chlorine may as well have been soothing aloe compared to tear gas, after all.
"W-*hghk* we gotta get movin', hngh" he half-choked, half spoke. "Anybody know the way to that tower asswipe was talkin' about?"

Through the kid's spiel, Sheffer had taken the opportunity to finish materializing the crystal around him, and it was for the better. He too had reacted as quickly as possible to the tear gas situation, but not before the second crash of lightning descended on them. Fortunately enough, the crackling energy didn't even do a thing to him this time around, and he mentally added that to the list of immunities the crystal held. The tear gas as well had very minor effects (he was still coughing a bit after letting the rock fall), but overall, he'd gotten out of the situation better then most.
Shrugging off the greenish-rock, he approached Rock's small rendezvous near the fountain, rubbing his eyes a bit, letting the small irritation he encountered pass. His fingers clenched and released a few times then as he listened to Rock, at least glad he was joining in on the aggressiveness the hedgehog himself had been showing ever since Seven showed his smug face that night.
"Dunno, but we better get their pronto. I think that brat has pulled enough $#&% for one night."

Caz, possibly the one least suited of the group for a scenario like this, didn't seem to mind showing that she had not mentally prepared her self for the situation. "Okay," she blurted, uneasily shuffling her way to the fountain everyone was regrouping on. "I think this might-- khaff koff--officially be getting way out of hand." She hacked up some of the lingering remnants of the gas as she approached, but made an attempt to do away with them by the way of expeditiously waving her hand at it. "Did we have a plan B?"
"Looks like our plan B is to go where he says," added a visibly uneased Ace. He didn't seem to spare the grief Jam did for her boyfriend in the belief he could handle it for now, but the circumstances on the whole were a concern on their own. "I know where it is, but I don't like it at all. He was waiting for us here. He'll have a second trap waiting for us there." He gave a glance to Sheff and Rock. "You know that, right? He might just drop a bomb on us for all he cares about collateral damage."
"I hope you realize the hypocrisy in that."

Attempting to remain as appropriately reverent as possible, the smaller of the simians allowed herself only the briefest of "what the hell" glances toward Rock's odd-ball survival skills, and sufficed to redirect her attention to the goldenrod feline.
"What else can we do?" she sighed exasperatedly. "We go, we're dead; we stand 'im up, and let 'im run amok with 'is -- what, four going on seven emeralds? Tell you how that'll end: We're dead."
An attempt to drag a palm through her rain-matted fur ended in a frustrating tug of war with her own hand at a particularly tangled impasse. The appendage in question earned an irritable glare, before Jam shook her head, and reclaimed her momentary pause.
"We're gonna have to deal with this kid sooner or later, and frankly, I like our odds better with him havin' less emeralds."

A lot seemed to transpire in a rather short amount of time. Jack had no better plan on how to deal with this kid, she hadn't been expecting something like this, and was caught with her proverbial pants down. She nodded to ember and was about to offer an answer when her least-favorite human (yes, she'd rather deal with Eggman again then this guy) shocked the crap out of her least favorite hedgehog. Jack winced a little, just because she wasn't in Sheffs fan club didn't mean she wished any harm on him. She did feel bad that he was singled out.
"This is going to get very bad..." Jack said sofly, and that was just before the boy laid down his challange and granades started to fall from the sky. "OHGOODLORD"
Jack buried her head in her vest turning away and trying to clear the smoke while Target started picking up canisters and throwing them down wind. and she eventually managed to do this with all the canisters.
"ARGH--I'm never teargassing anyone again. Gyha..." Jack said as she doubled over in pain, her eyes, nose and mouth full of hellish burning. It wasn't long before Jack dumped herself into the fountain. her entire head dunked in the chemically cleaned water. Anything to rinse away some of the burning death on her face.
It was Target who approached Rock, her hands on her hips. "Howdy!" She greeted him cheerily, such cheer was probably do to the fact her face wasn't burning. "l think this is the part were I suggest we work together. This is clearly going to suck either way, but we might be able to take Seven down at least."
*blub blub blub* While Jack's deputy conspired without her Jack blew bubbles under water, finally she'd done all the rinsing she could and pulled her head out of the water, whipping her hair back and water as well. At least it was already raining an no one could complain she got them wet.

"Less would be better..." muttered Sheffer in agreement with the pink primate, wiping some rainwater out of his eyes. "We already saw what he did with one. The whole lightning thing-" He abruptly stopped then, his eyes darting to each of Jam's wrists, and a long overdue connection was made. The hedgehog did not bother giving it a mention, though, knowing it was probably well ingrained into the more observant minds surrounding him.
That was when he heard the familiar female tone of a certain 'bot, turning to face Target, giving a slight nod.
"Probably be for the best. Brute force might be our only option, unless someone has an idea that's bit more tactical in mind. Preferably one where he doesn't get away. Again."

Appearing beside the overly cheerful robot was the little brown bird. Eyes still watering she gave the white monkey a half hearted wave.
"Well hey monkey," Ember greeted with a horase voice, "Was wondering where you had gotten off too. Guess I kinda know now heh."
Rubbing the back of her head, she glanced over at where the kid once stood.
"Welp, going after the little brat? If so count me in. I might be some kind of help!"

What Ace had to say wasn't particularly news to Rock, but it was no less a true statement. They were going to be skipping square into the snare. As all the different parties came together to chime in, and that... thing-that-once-once-a-capsule-trooper stepped up to him, though, he became a little more confident about it than the others.
"... Yeah," he affirmed almost begrudgingly to Target as well, with an uncomfortable glance up. (He was still kneeling, and at present, shoving some supplies from the first aid kit into his duffel.) "We will need to pool our efforts. ... for now." For reasons not yet disclosed, the robot deeply unsettled him. He got back on his feet and stood straight. "But enough talkin'bout it. The less time we give, the better. Let's go."
He gave Ace a sort of "go on" nod of his head, as if to say to lead the way.

Rodolf took a double take at the robot that approached. His eyebrows shot up and were lost in the masses of white hair, and he stared at Target for a moment. Coming to his thoughts for the first time since the gas had been dropped, he shook his head once or twice, and muttered something about not even wanting to know.
Regardless, he inspected the group. He eyed Rock and Ace, particularly, in alternation-- it seemed that one or the other was leading the operations at hand. At any rate, it was probably wise to ask, now, instead of assuming and inviting himself into the traveling vigilante party. To both of them he said, and it was well the first thing he had said since arriving on the scene as more than a simple aside or non-directed statement: "May I accompany you?"
It was hardly a question, in truth, and more of a flat statement.

If Key was even slightly fast, she might've made a bolt for it; instead, she flung her vest up over her face and tried her hardest not to breathe.
What had she gotten herself into.
Once the plan had been formulated, Key knew she had a choice to make. Her job had been to break into a safe, nothing more. She didn't need to get herself involved further, didn't need to risk her neck against a psychopathic kid with a lot of toys at his disposal. She didn't have to expose herself to more gas and more attacks...
... but she really, really wanted to know how this would all pan out. And those soldiers, all his toys, they interested her, too. At times it was a shame she wasn't a cat, taking into account how often her curiosity put her into stupidly dangerous situations.
"Hey," she sputtered. "I'm still in this, if... if you don't mind." She shook water off her face (from the surprisingly useful if irritating hosing) and continued, "I might be useful, things come to crackin' codes, or breaking into things, or... climbing things." She finished weakly. She was definitely out of her element.

A fire! That can't be good. Hoji's heroic instincts kicked into high gear from the street corner he was loitering in for no other reason than to get some fresh air. After hearing about the news about Wild Labs being broken into, the only thing he could think about was who had the balls to do such a thing.
That's when he saw the fire, and sprinted toward the casino. His hand gripping the handheld device that gave him his powers, "HENSHIN!" he yelled as he leaped through a window, immediately being covered in white light as he curled into a ball in mid air, with arms and legs tucked forward. The glass buckled, and he landed on the other side, rolling forward upon hitting the ground. The light having dissipated, leaving him in his form-fitting battlesuit, scarf and all.
He didn't quite have a one-liner ready to go. Good thing, too. Looked like the crisis was over. If only everyone could see the disappointment on his face. So much for heroic instincts.

Things finally seemed to be organizing themselves. Funneling themselves, for one last offense. Or at least that's what Ace made himself think. Ever a risk-taker though he may be, that wasn't when allies were involved. Or least of all, his friends. And truth be told, his closest friends (along with some other associates) were really all gathered here. Though he kept his eyes on level with Rock's, his chin tilted up for no reason other than to better draw his breath, before expelling it all in a puff to fast to be a sigh. "Okay," he finally surmised, and nodded.
He shot a glance to Key with a smirk. "...But I wouldn't bet on getting paid extra for it," he added.
He shot a glance to the unicorn with an well practiced poker-face. "Sure, knock yourself out," he concluded, and shrugged.
He shot a glance to... whoever just crashed through a window, and... quickly shook his head and looked for something else to look at.
He shot a glance to the mole. The mole shot one back.
"Hey, I'm all for risking our lives for the good of the world, really!" she said innocently, holding up her hands like she'd been caught shoplifting. "And I'd love to help how I can. But..." She raised the closest thing to a weapon in her assortment of equipment-- a walkie talkie. "My options are limited."Ace started blowing out more air from the corner of his mouth, but decided that they'd all been standing in the rain for long enough, and he motioned to everyone who might've paying attention to him. It wasn't a terribly long walk, but it was a walk that needed to be done soon. "I'm not the kinda guy to leave a beautiful lady out in the rain," he answered with his typical subtle smile. "But we'll have to see what's up when we get there.""Okay... okay! I c'n do this." But she turned an incredulous gaze to the primate in pink, as if to say, 'How do you handle all this nonsense?'
"How do you handle all this nonsense?"
