Alright. Poll was a resounding yes. We are adding the anti-Eggman side to our story. I have collected data on all who seem to wish to be involved, and made my own evaluations of how they may (vaguely) be involved. Here's what I've got. - Matt (that's meee) is too busy with other story stuff, but can contribute an official character here or there as needed, including Eggman most joyfully. - Ben has signed on as Wild Egg and for robo-duty. Thank you. You will probably be pivotal to the story, as I think Wild Egg is a pretty rad and hilarious change-up for Badge, and that it really fits the theme well. - Tony too for robo-duty, yesss. You will play many a charming robotic minion. - Greens is pitching in Tank. He could be a leader, but Greens really has too much goin' on for that right now, so let's just have him along for the ride for now. He may be able to help us get the first thread going. - Sheff is tossing in Lance for the first time. And ain't it about time, too, man. I'm not sure what kind of character Lance is, but Sheff has shown that he can play characters with driving elements, so maybe he could be helpful for keeping the story moving in the right direction. (Plus, he's from Wild Labs, so naturally, he has an in-built agenda to help find Badge.) - Claire is contributing R.E.G.I., who is sort of a lost robot. This will be the ideal circumstance for encountering him. - PVB is contributing Mike, I believe. I'm sure we can find a way to work'im in. - Elena presently has no available character for this side. - Kazz is looking to return with a new dude purpose-made to be involved and stay involved. I am all for it and have every confidence in Kazz's ability to crank out an acceptable character. (I would like to ask that you try to focus on that one character, though, at least for a while.) - Rachel is moving Jack over from the GUN side to the anti-Eggman side. Rachel wants to lead. I wish I could just say "take it away, Rach," and never worry about this again, but you're just not online that much during our main hours. Whoever takes this has to basically be me for one side of the story, and, I don't mean to inflate myself or my role, but it does involve being accessible around prime time, and I don't think you can do what I do from work. Maybe you could help run it instead. - Mie wants to bring Tabs back. (That's Tabitha. I'm coming up with nicknames for her character that she doesn't like. Play along.) She has volunteered to lead, but I'm not sure Mie has the resilience of sanity to handle it alone with her present sleep schedule. That said... maybe a Mie + Rachel approach? With help from Sheff/Tony? I don't want this to become another chapter 3b thing where I completely step aside for others to take over the story and then it just goes "ffffart." Running an RP is hard, and takes getting used to, so I will stay within reach and stay involved in the story planning thing. But, whoever does take over is gonna be at the wheel, so I'll just be playing backseat driver half the time, and napping the other half of the time. Anyway, what I'm going to do, if I get Mie-Rachel-and-friends confirmation, is mark you guys as story mods and give you access to the story planning forum, which I will sweep and clean and have ready for your arrival. From there, I will help get you guys on track, and then we will launch this Egg-thread hopefully as soon as, heck, maybe a couple days from now? |

I have no problem with any of this honestly. I do want to give it a shot, but your right about my work time getting in the way and muddying it up. So I'm all for this being a group venture to try and get the thread rolling along. If everyone keeps on top of things no one person should get crushed under the weight of pretending to be Matt. |

Focusing on one character is totally the idea here. Mako will make his comeback later, I'm sure, but right now I just want to get a character in that can get his stupid butt involved without a fight. So whoop-whoop! |

Expect a rework of my recently submitted character to make her...not dull I guess haha. Even if that doesn't work I can find a way to have Ember? |

Ember's fine, I'd say. Easy enough for her to get involved since she knows Jack and Tank fairly well, right? Anyway, would you guys be against doing some kind of start that just throws you straight into the plot and the action? What I'm thinking is that another "meeting" thread might be... ill-received, and wouldn't serve as much purpose here as it did over on Pax-side, anyway. Instead, I was thinking we might just do some creative writing here to show, outside of actual RP, why it is the group is being formed, how it happened, and then dive straight in with the group heading on a first outing. From there, we scoop up one or two additional characters along the way. After all, if the characters are on some sort of excursion in Eggmanland, almost anyone they could meet who isn't a robot would probably be an ally. Here's what I'm figuring is the start of this: - Badge has been missing for a long time, as has his mentor, Dr. H. - Badge's longtime friend and partner in crime-fighting, Tank, hears rumors of the appearance of the so-called Wild Egg, some sort of Badge doppelganger, and decides to look into it. - Tank calls up a friend and associate, Jack, to see if she's heard anything. She hasn't, but she has some acquaintances who are fighting the good fight against Eggman, so she suggests hooking up with them to see what they know and maybe chase the lead. - These acquaintances are the so-called "Underground" from chapter 4, led by Tabitha. Jack presumably doesn't know how to get in touch with Tabitha directly, so she, Tank, and some other Wild Labs buddies (such as Lance) follow some leads and go searching for them in Eggmanland. - We begin the first thread with their search, and subsequent chance encounter in the midst of some havoc in enemy territory. Perhaps Tabitha and her group are trying to help rescue some bystander (maybe a new player character?) or something like that, who knows. Either way, Jack, Tank and friends arrive in time to help. I just sort of coughed this up in five minutes, so if it's not how you'd wanna start things, that's fine. It's just the first beginning scenario I thought of. |

That's remarkably well formed for something thought up on the spot. I would be very much okay with that. Would the call between Jack and Tank be written out, or simply assumed? |

That sounds great. Perfect opportunity to write some new people in right off the bat. Also, Greens, I think the call will just be assumed as the idea here is to drop us straight into the action. |

You are correct indeed, Ben, though I won't stop anyone from writing anything if they just wanna—as long as it doesn't delay the beginning of this. Anywho, the Current Storyline GMs usergroup has been updated, and those listed now have access to the Story Planning forum. I strongly recommend you make use of it to stay in contact with one another. Yes, I know you can IM each other. Yes, the chat is there. But people forget things they talk about, and sometimes, with a group effort, not every tidbit gets to everyone. This can be helpful to stay on track. So. How 'bout it? You guys ready to kick this thing off? Remember, I'm hella backseatin', so don't look at me. |

I could totally volunteer Mike to be a bystander in mortal peril. He practically lives the role of a bystander in mortal peril. |

Agreed that the quick plan is a good plan. And I will use Ember then since it does fit. |
