*rubs hands together* Alright, so at the risk of tripping over myself as a noob here, here I go. Hello everyone! I'm 13's Number 14. I have an account with the same name over at Deviantart, which is how I found myself here (Themie posted some art, this place was in the description). I figured this would be an excellent place to flesh out some of my lesser fancharacters, by having them interact with others so's I can get a grip on their personalities, how they'll fit in the world, etc. Unlike here, I base my fancharacter universe around the Archie Comics, and for the sake of avoiding inaccurate portrayal, my stories take place far away from the canon characters and places. This more or less starves my characters of any social interaction, and I want to change that, so I'm putting them up here. Hopefully this will shed some light on them and help me mold them into characters I -and more importantly, you- would like. My universe mainly centers around a group called Team RGA - that is "Random Group of Animals". The main members are Spirit the Hedgehog (SPEED Type) as the leader, Halia the Badger (POWER Type), and R.E.G.I the Robotic Red Panda (FLY Type). They are a hero-for-hire group much like Team Chaotix, and will do any job for money (so long as it's a good job - NOT stealing, killing, etc). Spirit and Halia are childhood friends, whose home town was attacked by Robotnik, and their parents kidnapped. Since then, they have wandered the globe searching for them, but instead finding a new friend and partner in R.E.G.I, and gaining an archenemy in Nexus the Wolf, whose dementia cripples him to the point of a single mindset; to hunt down and kill them without any resolve nor reasoning. Many adventures later, and the group of now-late teens grew to be a semi-established group, expanding their members by 2, and moving into a base of operations, where they conduct missions on a regular basis. They have also managed to locate their parents. So without further ado, I present my list of characters that I will consider putting in here:
Halia the Badger (main fancharacter since 2008, the very first Sonicsona I made) R.E.G.I the Robotic Red Panda OTHERS: Nexus the Wolf Ben Aural Tone II Barry Tone Metal Havoc Teros the Hedgehog Tungsten the Armadillo Right now, I'm leaning more towards putting Ben or Barry in there. They have the least amount of development and I would like to see how they would do. ...anywho, thank you oh-so much for reviewing my intro. I look forward to sharing stories with y'all. Stay frosty my friends, ~13 |

Welcome, welcome. As great as it is to get new folks, I feel I should probably drop some caveats before you spend much time or effort submitting characters here. You seem like a nice, friendly person, but I am a little worried that what we do here may not be what you think it is at all. So, I'm just gonna hit a few points to make sure that you're informed, just on the chance that you later find out and go, "Oh, you guys are totally not what I expected, peace out." Quote: I base my fancharacter universe around the Archie Comics, and for the sake of avoiding inaccurate portrayal, my stories take place far away from the canon characters and places. This more or less starves my characters of any social interaction, and I want to change that, so I'm putting them up here. You are correct, and just to make sure it's totally clear, this is to such a degree that we don't allow any reference to Archie-related things whatsoever, be it the name of the planet, any location, any character, event, or anything else. Just making sure you know. Quote: My universe mainly centers around a group called Team RGA - that is "Random Group of Animals". For those of us running this show, our stance as soon as it came out was "We hate this." Aaand, we still hate it now, as well as what it did for the fandom (that is, effectively reducing all characters to one of three contrived, boring "types," and combining them into arbitrary [and usually corny] "teams"). So, that said, we don't do the "Team ____" thing here. Quote: So without further ado, I present my list of characters that I will consider putting in here:

No offense, but we do have our own long-running story here, and the goal is for new members to make their characters become an important part of it, not to bring their own entire fanon and universe with them. There's always fanfiction.net for that. It isn't to say that characters can't come with some sort of extant history, or that they have to be utter strangers to the world. We just aren't interested in absorbing piles of fanon with every new member, so if it's going to happen, it'll have to be slowly, and with great discretion on your part, and definitely not that entire cast. And, lastly... Quote: I'm 13's Number 14 And I'm Matt. And some of our other members include people with illustrious names like Ben, Rusty, Charles, John, Mie, and so on. ... And you're going to need a lot of luck to get anyone to call you "13's Number 14" in this setting. If you're just afraid of being cyberstalked, don't worry; none of us are quite talented enough to find you by a first name alone, nor do I think we have any psycho-rapists in our ranks. Anyway, I know this sounds like the most hardassed greeting this side of boot camp, but if any members are going to be driven off by the ancient, decade-old elitist beast that this group is, I'd prefer that it happen sooner than later. If this does not deter you, then by all means feel free to submit a character. We love having new people, and we try to welcome everyone, but just understand that we're a mess of jaded former fans who like the Sonic universe and characters but hate the worn-out cliches of the series, with its bajillion hedgehogs, recolors, metal doppelgangers, teams, etc., etc... I just don't want there to be any illusions about what kind of attitude and culture you'll find in this RP group. Peace. If you've got questions, don't hesitate to ask. (That being said, I think I'll swing over to your other topic, now.) |

Hello, Matt. Thank you very much for reviewing this ultimate mess of an introduction. First off, let me explain some things; I knew this place was more into the game canon than the Archie canon. I only explained that just to introduce myself and where I came from. With a bit of tweaking, I can conform to your canon just as easily. psikeout wrote: I'll just tell you up front: We founded this group well before Sonic Heroes ever existed. So, that said, we don't do the "Team ____" thing here. Gotcha. No teams. However, the character section of your wiki does categorize most of the characters as these types. I saw Power and Speed, as well as Special and others (which I'm trying to find the definition of right as to what these are). I know that's for a reason, and I respect your guys's opinions, so I will not include that later. Quote: You may join with one character, then consider adding more over time. Of course, of course. I only plan on entering one character (even if my other forum has 2, I only plan on entering 1) anyway. I had no intention of commandeering an entire forum with my fanon, just to become part of it. That being said, I will try my best not to bore you guys with oodles of backstory. Quote: And, lastly... I never thought you guys were elitist, there's a fine line between 'elitist' and 'just really organized and not wanting to be screwed over by some noob godmods', which I can agree with. I look forward to sharing stories with y'all. ~13 |

I know that's for a reason, and I respect your guys's opinions, so I will not include that later. We created the ability focus categories as a frivolous, for-fun element to try to broaden people's horizons since Sonic Heroes seems to have convinced the fan community that there are only three things characters can be good at. Quote: Then in that case, call me Claire :3 Nice to meet you, then! Anyway, cool. Looks like we're all on the same page. I'm glad I didn't offend you (or if I did, I guess you're just really good at being polite anyway). Lemme extend a less conditional "welcome to the forums" here. If you have any more questions, we're around. Well, a few of us—we're a little short on staff right now owing to some life-tastic circumstances, so responses may occasionally be slow (and the chat a little desolate), but we'll try. Later! |
