Alright, if this was a Sonic Adventure-like video game instead of an RP, we could just have the whole cast of characters splintering off in whatever directions, rollicking and adventuring, etc., but this isn't and we can't. We have too many characters for that, and RP tends to benefit from more stable environments and "episodic" outings (rather than overly long, sweeping outings where characters are stranded in the thick of action). So, the cast of characters needs somewhere to stay—some place that can serve as a familiar point to return to, launch outings from, etc., a hub/hideout of sorts. But where? There's a poll above with some options. Here's a better breakdown of those options. • In Spring City (incognito, pretending to be average citizens): They'd probably still need some central, suitably-abandoned-or-secluded meeting place. • Under Spring City (heroes in a half-shell, turtle power): Living in storm drains (the sewers that don't handle sewage) is very TMNT. It isn't luxurious or sunny, but it'd be easy to hide there and pop out wherever around the city. • Inside the Labyrinth (semi-aquatic ruins near Spring City): These could actually tie into the storm drain idea, if it is selected. Or they could be left out of it entirely. • The forest between the Marble Ruins and Spring City: This probably involves setting up some kind of dwellings. Rebels in huts in the forest smells an awful lot like Knothole Village to me, but I'm open-minded. • Somewhere in the Yellow Desert: Not terribly hospitable, unless they go to Dry Lagoon (which contrary to its name, is actually a nestled-away green oasis full of ancient ruins). • In Gigalopolis: Just another city. Probably more industrial. • Other: You name it. How would they know about all these areas? Hard to say, but maybe even Aga would be aware of all the ruins and any such potential shelters, if Franky was okay with that. Anyway, as soon as we've got a direction to go in, I'll pop us into a new thread. Vote and discuss, pulz. Also, note: THIS THREAD'S A POLL. Scroll up. There's poll-y stuff at the top, where you click a thing and vote. (I say this because sometimes this evades the notice of some.) Please vote in it as soon as you form any remote opinion on the matter, even if you're already going to reply, too. |

Aga would be happy to give directions around the Labyrinth and also lecture his new rebel buddies on the historical significance of the area |

I am smitten by the idea of camping out in dry lagoon, for the simple reason that dry lagoon is the bomb, but—as a close second, under spring city sounds cool! |

I voted for under Spring City because in the previous continuity, we established that Dr. Henshin had hidden tunnels throughout the city for the sake of speedily deploying Wild Badge's jet ski. Hoji would at least suggest it, under the baseless assumption that Eggman didn't discover these tunnels. |

As much as I personally like the sound of areas like Dry Lagoon, and the forest, it as you stated, necessitates at least some basic infrastructure like, you know, walls and roofs, maybe. That seems... Less than desirable, if only from an aesthetic perspective. I like the idea of toughing out Yellow Desert, it seems close enough to Spring City to be convenient, and between recent events, and natural phenomena, it's suitably desolate -- And, it is Halloween, next month, anyway. Furthermore, being based out of Yellow Desert would give Jack and her peeps built-in involvement as soon as they get back from Glastonia. But, I can see having a difficult time selling it IC, so if that won't fly, my vote goes to the Labyrinth/storm drains idea. As for how they'd know about those... eh, that's something else entirely. |

Waaaait, but isn't the yellow desert town a chaosradioactive scar on the face of the sand? Why would Jack et al come back. |

Yellow Desert (if they at least drop by dry lagoon at least once), or the sewers/labyrinth option, because they involve water and I want to play fishtaco again. |

![]() Unique environment, simple to comprehend, and easily accessible. At first I was liking Spring City, but YES-- now I am convinced this Dry Lagoony sewers is the prime objective. I HAVE VOTEDSPOKEN. |

Just to avoid any confusion that may arise from Greens' statement, Dry Lagoon is in Yellow Desert and itself has nothing to do with sewers. Carry on. |

Not that I have anything to do with what's going on, but deserts are awesome. So Dry Lagoon. No I'm not biased at all. |

Iiiii'm going to have to go with the whole Labyrinth-mixed-with-sewers business. Seems like a suitable location that won't keep them too far away from where some action could occur. |

heh. I'm all for the desert. The benefit to picking the desert would be the proximity to support from the Clarke Ranch. Old Andy no doubt has resources, vehicles, and weapons he'd happily share, so long as he can help kick eggman in the pants. of course. |

Looks like the Labyrinth option has won, with a heavy spin toward the sewers of Spring City. But, we also got considerable support for Dry Lagoon. So, we'll approach both. "Ch. 4: Day 2a" will be guided by Wild Badge. The basement of his company's headquarters has a couple of exits into the storm sewer system, and as Ben said, Badge would be interested in trying to get back in there. This area would be most appealing to the characters because it is hidden well, and close to Spring City. If you want your character to be in this group, go for it. (We will probably start with some traveling and exploring, so feel free to use that time to get your characters better acquainted, have some quality interaction, etc. Just remember that I reserve the right to throw horrible things at you at any moment via NPC account.) "Ch. 4: Day 2b" will be guided by Aga. Dry Lagoon is like an enormous crevice in the desert containing an oasis and ancient ruins (thus, the relevance of Aga's knowledge and interest). It would presumably be appealing to the characters as a place to set up a long-term base of operations because it is well-hidden and hospitable. Slower party members may need vehicles to get anywhere fast, though, because it's a few miles from anything important. (This thread will probably begin much like the one above, and will have dangers of its own.) Honestly, it's a little too much for me to crank open two new threads at once right now (and have them be good and something someone actually wants to post in), so I ask your patience. If anybody'd want to help with it, hit me on AIM or in the chat. In the meantime, just be thinking about which outing you're going to pitch your characters into. |

Despite Labyrinth winning the poll... and getting all the major story plans... most all of the main characters have appeared in the desert instead, leaving nothing but Badge, Leon, and one or two minor characters (Murdoch and maybe Sheff's profile-less gizoid) for the Labyrinth thread. ![]() Apologies to Ben, and especially Rob. It looks like you've officially been B-Teamed by the group. Not sure what to do about it. It looks like you two have the choice of forging onward, or just retconning your characters out of the thread and joining with the desert crew. However: In order to preserve sanity and order, for me at least, no one is getting any second or third original characters into the desert thread. We are now running with one character per person from this point onward except in special circumstances, or until otherwise noted. We'll need to keep the cast more compact in all upcoming threads (especially if officials are going to be brought in at some point soon), because this little fiasco shows we can't do split threads evenly without assigning characters to threads, and I get the distinct feeling that wouldn't sit well with some of you. |
