The current chapter of our story (that is to say, this arc) is going to come to a close within a thread or two more. The finale will hopefully be big, and inclusive of as many characters as possible. (Yes, it will be a crowded thread, but deal with it.) That said, this branch of our story will be over afterward, leaving us open for an all new arc.

Possibilities will hopefully be a little clearer once we see how this chapter ends (as it's hard for anyone to determine things until they happen, RP being as joyously unpredictable as it is), but in the meantime, it still doesn't hurt to speculate and talk about what might be fun.

There have been some vague ideas tossed around, such as...

- A short Professor-Layton-esque mystery sub-story, with a mystery plot that the characters have to actually work to solve. Who would be in control of this story, I don't know. It'd probably work best with several people cooperating behind the scenes.

- A big, sweeping outer space story, with ships, space stations, other planets, etc.


Ideally, we would have two entirely separate stories like this happening simultaneously, so as to give everyone options, and more varied things to do. It doesn't have to be these two ideas, though. It could be anything. That said, does anyone have any thoughts? Other ideas entirely? Even if you don't want to post anything here right now, now would be a good time for us to be thinking and talking about it, so that we come up with something everyone will enjoy.

I am cool with both mysteries AND outer space although planets what? *immediate visions of some cross between season 3 of sonic x and the end of shadow the hedgehog*

Man I do dig both those ideas. Usually I stay away from spaceness but if any group can do it it would be this one. Maybe combine the two in some way? But it would beg the question of how they would get up there? I know some would be eager to run up there into the great beyond but some might not be.

Also will there be aliens?

I have to say I've ALWAYS wanted to do a space arc. I am not shy of the deep space portion of sci fi and I'm super duper excited at the idea of getting to do a story in space with you lovely people. I really can't vote against it.

That being said, a mystery thread is a provocative thought. It's really something that well suited for Jack, and I think It'd be fun as heck to see what twist and turns our characters will come across trying to figure it out. I can't help but think this is something that would be a great deal of fun.

So, really, I want both. But given the choice, I always have to go with SPACE because I lurb it and everything in it. :D If these are to happen at the same time. I will have to figure out how to do both.

I was personally thinking more along the lines of some stuff like what we saw in Sonic CD, with what looked like Eggman bases on Jupiter's moons, and stuff like that, but if we were to try for aliens and deep-space extraterrestrial civilizations, I'd like to think we could pull it off more thoughtfully than Sonic X or Shadow.

I'm indifferent to either way, and I can go with the flow. I'm not super-duper-enthused about either, but I'd be perfectly happy to take either route-- and besides that, I have no ideas of my own, so I'm not exactly going to be bitching and moaning.

Well thank you Kazz, for once again stealing the words from my voicebox before they are even spoken (or typed). That said, I think if any one of my cast is suited for a more ridiculousity-powered SPACE EPIC, it's Tank the Giant Tortoise. That said, I lack the crazy-enthusiasm of said epics Rachel has, and a mystery story would require careful balance of just how hard the mysteries are to solve, coupled with a motivation for audience interest.

As always, I'm a more effective (or at least active) critic than an actual contributor. I'd like to brainstorm with the big important story-weaving folks, though. I just can't guarantee I'll come up with anything.

If only because he hasn't gotten to -do- very much, short of lose a boxing match, I'm inclined to say 'let's go super-mystery-fun-time!' for Jacques' sake.

However, I -like- epic space things when they're done right.

So, really, I can go eeeeither way.
