If you're looking to beef up your character's star ratings, this is the thread for you, you power-gaming, god-moding sonufavalued member and delightful individual. Below are the guidelines for progressing and increasing your character's stats over time.

First, make a thread for the stat increase. Say what you want to increase and by how much. There's no particular format you have to use, but here's one below if it just makes you feel dandy inside to use forms.


You should be logical. Your character's not going to become a faster runner if he isn't running a lot in the story (unless some sort of obtained item or equipment is augmenting that ability). The same applies to strength, energy, and toughness. Also, reserve stat increases for major waypoints in the story, such as the end of a chapter, and use discretion if your character is already extremely physically powerful. Don't roll in here after every thread, basically.

How does approval work? We're all the judges (that's right, ALL members). However, polls are not allowed. Whenever someone posts a thread for a character stat increase, we'll give it a few days to sit there and percolate. If you think someone's request is reasonable, don't say anything. If there are no objections after a few days, the thread will be closed and the changes accepted and applied.

The assumption will be that all stat increases will be automatically accepted unless objected to. If you think a stat change for a character doesn't sound right, is too much, or breaks a rule, you can reply to the thread or tell an admin privately to state your comment completely anonymously—you know, to avoid uncomfortable confrontations over dumb stuff like character stats.

If someone does object, then we just sort it out politely. No special rules to apply here. We discuss it until it's considered fair. Admin rule will be final, regardless, though, especially in the event of anything that just plain breaks the rules.
