It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

~~While reading the story update thread, i think this character will be fun to work with, considering the story~~ What is your character's name? > Corey 'Flash-Bang' (or just 'Flash') Blair Species? > Porcupine Age? > 19 What's your character's personality like? Write a paragraph or two of general info about your character. > Flash-Bang is really obsessed with death. He can look at any situation and figure out all the possible ways he - or others - can die in said situation (and usually does). Of course - to most's surprise, he doesn't actually think he will die (unless he really can't think of a way around death that is, and that isn't often). After he thinks of all the possible ways of death, he starts to think up ways to escape it. Whether that means ways to beat the opposition, running to the nearest exit, or thinking up some complicated way around whatever they're escaping from using the environment along with his skills, and the other's with him. Most of his plans seem really thought out, and it never usually takes him long to figure one - or three - out. Outside missions or near-death experiences (since he works for G.U.N., those tend to happen more often then not), Flash is a rather quiet guy. He is much happier behind a work-desk then out at a group gathering. This doesn't mean he's anti-social. He does know how to have fun. Sure he'll probably never be the life of the party, but he'll converse with other people casually. He's not shy at all - even though his quiet nature might perceive him as such - and he's pretty polite also. Flash isn't one to loose his temper - he hardly ever gets angry or frustrated, he's a very patient guy. If he does though, it will only be one, very short, outburst. One thing Flash-Bang loves to do if change the colours of his eyes and quills (or, some of his quills - the blue ones in the picture are the one's he changes all the time (they are dyed themselves)). He has many quill-dyes and contacts that he uses a lot. His eye colour changes most every day, and his quill colour changes usually every one-or-two weeks. In fact, he changes his eye colour so often, that no one knows what his real eye colour is - and he doesn't really tell any one either. Does your character have any skills or special abilities, a gimmick, or anything that makes it stand out as an athlete or fighter? If so, talk a little about it here. >Well, he didn't just pull his nickname 'Flash-Bang' out of nowhere. Like a flash Grenade (or a 'Flash-Bang' as some call it), Flash is able to release a blinding flash of light from his hand. Also, despite his bulky build, Flash-Bang isn't actually that strong, or fast. The only thing he really has to protect himself is his power, his quills, and his smarts. As already mentioned, Flash has the uncanny ability to see any possible ways he - or others around him - could die in any given situation, and plan around it (This isn't to say he can see the future or something, he's just good at predicting). (I'm also debating for him to be able to do somewhat of a spindash... If he can, I don't want him to be very good at it yet... Also if he can, when he's in the ball, he gets a white glow encasing him. The faster he goes, the brighter the glow becomes) Does your character have any goals, or a purpose? > He's really just trying to make up for the time he was away from real civilization (since he spent most of his life either at or close to his home, or - in the few times he did go further - it wasn't for very productive purposes). He's trying to "pay the world back". Does your character have an image? Post it here, if so. If not, please write a description of your character's appearance. >

Sorry for the belatedness of this reply. Anyway, the profile does raise a few questions, but the most important to me at the moment is this: What's the story for the "flash" power? That is to say, what's the origin story, and what thematically ties it in with the character so that it doesn't seem like a random power drawn out of a hat?
I don't want to mislead you into thinking everything needs a scientific explanation, but in general, anything that's a "special" power like that does well to have some sort of reason behind it, and some reason that it fits with the character.

No prob, you did explain to me why ^.^' I wasn't expecting your response any earlier. Well, I think I decided that I want the flash' to be just a chaos blast, but all the power is directed to the light instead.

That answer kind of leaves us right where we were before, and doesn't answer "why" or give any kind of origin. The power itself is totally acceptable, but I'd just like to see you explain one or the other: why it works the way it does, or why it fits for the character, so that it does not seem random. In other words, just write something that will explain why this power fits with this character so that it doesn't seem arbitrary.
For example, Blaze has her involvement with the Sol Emeralds as an explanation for why her "energy attacks" are in the form of pyrokinesis. Jam has her ownership of the Lightning Ring (which is an old lore item from previous RP storylines) to explain why her chaos energy attacks manifest as electricity. Ember has her encounter with (and gift from) the phoenix in chapter 3a as an explanation for her (less potent) pyrokinesis. Geoff has his exposure to a dangerous and unstable radioactive energy source in a massive underground crystal geode in chapter 1 as an explanation for his crystal manipulation stuff. Etc.
That said, there are characters like Ace who don't have any explanation at all for why their energy attacks work the way they do (he just does it naturally), but! Big but— the power somehow thematically ties in with the character's identity. Greens makes Ace uses his "charging" power primarily to make playing cards into weapons because it lines up thematically with his background as a gambler, and so, it just seems to fit.

His mom is a biochemist. So maybe some of her chaos energy related expariments exterted some type of radiation that got to him. Or just got on him in general.

You sound more like you're asking me than articulately explaining a thematic reason or origin story... Maybe you just haven't put much thought into it yet? The profile should still be editable for now if you want to spend a little longer developing your character. Just be sure to let somebody know when you're done.

Well, it kinda was asking .. I need opinions (which is why I wanted to go on the chat) XD I know his mom was a biochemist, but I just thought up the explanation. I had thought of another idea, but it sounded too...clichè. I dunno. I can tell you it if you want. It was more thought out then what I had.
The idea was that his mom was a biochemist for GUN and she was commissioned to expariment with chaos energy. So she was running tests on herself before she knew she was pregnant.. Now, she has limited chaos powers, but so does Flash and his sister.
..eh, now that I type it out, it doesn't sound too bad.

Lab accidents are classic standby origin stories for superpowers in the comic book realm and beyond, but "mom was a biochemist" doesn't by itself draw any apparent connection between your character and the ability to generate explosions of light, and there doesn't seem to be anything about your character that even vaguely links it with "flashing" attacks, either.
I wanna help, but you just haven't given a whole lot to go off of here. I know it sounds like a doopy question, but why does he make blasts of light? Why is it a part of the character? That's all I'm personally asking.
Let me rephrase what I said before. Though it sounds really cheesy to summarize it like this, understand that Ace throws glowy, charged-up cards because he's a gambler, and it fits with his theme. Rock has extreme reaction time and mental acuity because he embodies the "test pilot" type of character, a brilliant pilot and astronaut naturally skilled in his field. Geoff generates crystal because he was exposed to a mysterious and unstable radioactive crystal in a giant crystal cavern corrupted by Eggman. Jack has unerring accuracy with a gun because she embodies the image of the wild-west sharpshooter with her cowboy revolver, crazy ricochet shots, and "sheriff" identity. Meanwhile, "Flash-Bang" creates flashes of light from his hands because ______

..I was slow at updating. Does what I said clear it up? I also wanna throw in that he got into GUN through his mom.. And her 'success' in her expariment.
~ plus, it's kinda ironic that his powers revolve around light but he focuses more on the darkness

It really doesn't... It still doesn't have anything to do with why it's bursts of light.
I'm not sure you're reading what I'm saying. Plus, we've gotten so sidetracked on this one little thing that we haven't even talked at all about the rest of the character... I'm not sure why this is such a struggle, but it's really wearing me out. You were patient enough to get one character involved. Do you think you could be patient enough to make this one make sense on your own time? I'm convinced this is a total communication breakdown, and I don't have the time or energy for it. I'm just trying to run this RP to have fun while maintaining a certain standard of quality that keeps the members we've already got, but stuff like this makes it not so fun for me.

I do apologize.
(I thought that last sentence might have been what you wanted.. You know, his powers of light balence his more ... I suppose obsession with the darkest parts of life - aka death)
