It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

"Ah, yeah..." The yellow cat stopped walking and began to drone somewhat awkwardly, looking down at the mole in subject. "Yeah, she's gonna be fine, just gotta find some kinda infirmary or something..."
Her head rolled towards Teck, and she gave him a vapid sort of look, accompanied with a friendly wave and smile.
Ace's eyes sunk down, and started doing that darty sort of motion, when he wasn't looking for anything except for than what he wanted to say. "Listen, I'm sorry I got on your ass back there, too. I was just... I w's jus' really freakin' out, y'know," he tried masking his voice with a breath of laughter from the throat. He didn't quite know how effective it was. "Anyway, thanks," he said with a nod, and moved towards the SSD. "Let's go try and find our bearings before we're all traumatized."
"So," he said to... basically the whole batch of SSD, as he wasn't quite sure who to look for in specific. "Do we get a tour of the president's house, now? 'Cause I got a guest in need of a host."

"That's great to hear, mate," he condoned - were the fur lining his cheeks not such a sheer shade of ivory, the blush would've been unbelievable. Scratching the back of his head, he continued, "And don't worry about it, mate - if anything, I should be apologizing for my abruptness on this whole situation. I got a little ahead of myself since it's been a long time since I've had any action... I just about forgot that lives were at stake until I saw the lass 'ere," motioning to Caz and returning a friendly wave along with a stately adjustment of his spectacles.
"Besides, we were allll bonkering out there..."
Following Ace to the SSD group, he crossed his arms and let the feline talk. Teck was wondering why they even allowed them to remain on the president's lawn much less get a tour!

Ooryl gestured to a pair of distant figures. "Major seeing if he can get us in," he answered in reply to Ace's query. "Uncertain if they are allowing common civilians inside the premises. Unlikely in the event of outbreak of war. Security concerns; understandable."
"On the plus side," Elegant Joe said, "we can probably get inside."
"Yes," Ooryl agreed. "Uniforms handy." A shame the homeless had no such uniforms. Ooryl felt for the yellow cat.
By then Cross and Killey had closed in on the building. At least it had been spared in the initial attack; it might make a handy hold-out point. He'd have preferred a much less important place to hunker down, though. The presidential home was probably public enemy no. 1 for the army of the undead... or unbroken. Whatever the machines were.
"We need inside," he told the first relatively important individual he saw. Probably one out of a hundred veritable bouncers the building had acquired within the last twenty-four hours. He'd have introduced himself, but the battle gear, SSD-and-stars patch on his uniform, and unhappy look on his face were usually enough to do the trick. "We've got some wounded, military and civilian, we need supplies, and we need to know what in the hell is going on."

The recipient of Cross's request (whose back was currently turned to him) said nothing at first, but held up a finger to indicated to give him a minute. He said something into a headset, before turning around. The cat paused, looking almost a little surprised when he saw who had been vying for his attention, but he got over it quickly enough.
"..." One eyebrow quirked skyward. "Are you and your people responsible for that light show a minute ago?"

Cross didn't have the time or patience to play Please Hold. He was about to go off somewhere else before the feline turned around, so he ended up staying put. The face, he recognized--some bigshot head of so-and-so--but the name didn't come to him. He tried to distance himself from the political side of the government, vastly preferring the side that kicked ass and blew sh*t up.
"That's right. We had some civilians give us a hand prior to that, so we've got a pretty sizable crew. Some of them are hurt, and my men have been going at it all night and all morning. They could use some downtime." He wasn't kidding about that--he wasn't feeling so hot anymore himself now that the action had ended for now. Stress was the ultimate generator of fatigue, and not even trained operatives in the SSD could avoid that.

It seemed to be over; things had died down enough that they could finally make their break for it. Rock pondered for a moment over the things that he'd need to do, like check on his folks, check on Jam's folks, grab a weapon just in case, make sure his motorcycle was still okay... Just when he was about to suggest one of the above, however, he caught a familiar shade of blue out of the corner of his eye.
"... Look who it is," he commented with a light backhanded tap to Jam's arm, before heading off in the cat's direction.
While Cross and his big, tough crew tiredly sought clearance for passage, the monkey walked right past them, straight up to the well-dressed, important-looking guy, and extended a hand—Which is to say, slung a hand out in an extremely casual, thumb-grabbing, hood-quality handshake.
"He-heyyy, chief. It's been a minute, hadn't it?"
Rock was probably cramping his professional style. Equally probable was that he was doing it knowingly.

After the (night and) day she'd had, Jam was more than ready for a little downtime, a little R&R, or even just a familiar face would help recharge the morale batteries. When Rock directed her attention to one of the more recognizable ones floating around in her mental collection, she cracked a wide grin that somehow grew under the whiter primate's rep-damaging familiarity.
Approaching at a leisurely stroll behind her decidedly more exuberant counterpart, she shoved her hands into her pockets (or at least her index and middle fingers), and inclined her head, if only for show.
"Miiiister Rogerz," greeted the inappropriately slouchy simian with a nod and a semi-amused look out the tops of her eyes.

"...alright. I'll get your guys taken care of - just let me make sure everyone knows you're allowed inside." Rekk said and briefly placed a hand to his headset again - before he heard a strikingly familiar voice. His face contorted in a way that wasn't entirely dissimilar to that of a man who had just eaten many many lemons.
"Hhello." Rekk said, looking up at the two. "So you two...helped the SSD, huh."

And then up walked the other cat... Not really smiling, but you could tell it took at least a little effort to have merely the slight upper curl at the corner of his mouth. Ace recognized that feline just as well, and he'd knew he'd have a hard time forgetting him, too. He was greeted with an ever-so-subtle side-cocking of the neck-- hardly authoritative, but familiar all the same.
It was like a big happy family reunion... except none of them were really family, (except maybe Rock and Jam in the most technical of terms, he wasn't sure), and Ace probably was that jerkass cousin who everybody tried avoiding but always came along anyway. Who knew? Maybe this was his way of trying to prove himself.
"Two?"

Rock shot an odd glance at Ace. Judging by the fact that he'd already called the guy by name, it was clear he and the yellow cat were acquainted, but how was another question entirely. Either way, Rock much more readily focused attention on the blue guy in the suit.
"'Helped' is a strong word, maybe. I think I probably almost killed half of'em with my driving, but hey. I try."

As one of several middle children in her ridiculously large mission of seventeen, Jam was never one to let any of her own accomplishments (however small or bad) slip by unacknowledged, and she returned the sharp-dressed cat's rightly apprehensive look with a wholehearted beam as she stepped forward to bring up her own contributions.
"Oh, I helped too," she interjected with an unnecessary self-finger-point. "I almost shorted both their CTs."
With her expectant stare, and practically puffed out chest, you'd think she was waiting for a pat on the head and a treat.

It probably went without saying, but Cross and Killey (as well as the other soldiers who were approaching them by then) were left a little... blank-faced by the moments that unfurled, starting with the ghetto handshake. It might have been expected of him to be miffed, but for one thing this would probably make things easier for their party, and secondly he was so caught off-guard by the bizarre scene that he was confined to just sort of standing there. Killey's eyes were faintly humorous, but for the most part he stood expressionless as well. Everyone else who saw it were more or less bewildered.
The crow and moose exchanged a quiet stare with one other, but other than that, remained otherwise removed from the absurdity of the scene.

"So who's this chap?" He asked Ace. Just considering how he was at least somewhat politely addressed by Ace, Teck already felt plenty comfortable with the grungy alley cat, so he made an effort to remain near him most of the time. After standing still for so long, Teck quickly began to grow warm so off his jacket went as he slung it casually over his shoulder and held his waists, eager for further elaboration on this mysterious cyan cat's identity and how everyone knew who he was.
He didn't bother waving his schlong around, especially since Teck didn't really do much to help, even though in a most outrageous dose of irony, he was certainly the one who tried to help the most! Better his ego is spared, however, so for a chance of pace he kept his eager tongue behind his teeth.

Rekk scanned everybody present - his eyes caught the other cat first, and then some porcupine who he admittedly didn't recognize.
He turned away briefly, and spoke into his headset, "I'm letting some people into the house; several SSD, two monkeys, a cat, a mole and a porcupine." He then looked back towards the group, "Go on ahead inside. But bear in mind that it's the president's. house. So don't mess anything up." He pointedly looked at Rock and Jam as he said this. "I'll come get the full story from you after I'm done out here, so stay put until then."
It almost sounded less as if he was giving them a place to catch their breath, and more like he just wanted them all in one place.

With a salute that the SSD would probably laugh at should they see it, Jam bade a momentary farewell to her friend in a high place with a chipper, "You got it, boss," that was questionably serious at best, and strolled right over the threshold.
Though by and far, a modest establishment for a presidential residence, there was no getting around the fact that South Island's commander-in-chief was a great man. Like, literally great. This much was evidenced by the unusually wide berth of the doorframe, how everything seemed about a half-foot too high, and upon entering the dwelling, Jam felt unusually small.
