All UMn hosted services will be down for several hours today for software Maintenance. |

Due to a combination of excessively hot weather today and lack of efficient AC all UMN hosted services will be offline for several hours while the hardware cools. |

This is a general reminder that UMN hosted services ( IRC, Mumble, Minecraft, and a few other servers ) will be offline from Friday evening ( June 15th ) to the 24th around roughly 3 PM. I apologize for this downtime, However, There will be no one to monitor the server hardware during the hottest month of the year during that time. PartialUMN services ( Such as IRC ) may be on for breif times during the week, But such is unlikely. |

During the 16th to the 23rd all UMN hosted services ( Gaming servers, VoIp server, Ect. This has NOTHING to do with the actual forums themselves for those of you in a fog ) and servers will be offline. ( As most of you should already be aware. ) During the 15th ( Today ) All services, aside IRC, will be offline as of this announcement. IRC related services will be going offline later tonight at around 7 - 8 pm est. |

IRC, Mumble and several other servers are once again online. The minecraft server, however, will remain offline until tomorrow. While IRC is now online, it may take a few for the webmaster to toss the IRC link back on the forums. Hope you bookmarked it. |

Update. IRC is totally down fo realzies. Like, it's dead. Darren no longer has a working computer with a display, so, IRC is gone until I either set up the server myself or we find an alternative. |

And, double-update: IRC hosting situation taken care of already, temporarily. I'm not really sure how 24/7 it will be, though. We may end up only having IRC during peak hours. This remains to be seen. |

The server decided it wanted to restart last night of its own accord. Go figure. Expect this to happen on occasion. I'll see if there isn't some way to get everything fully running in an automated fashion in the event it happens again. |

The weather here has been bad all week. It tends to hit in the evenings, and the effects seem to last, so don't be surprised if the IRC server is a little flaky as of late. |
