That's right—there's more than one chapter 3, because we love making things complicated.

Anyone who's been following the discussion area threads already knows that we're going to have two very distinct, very different stories in very different areas, with a different cast in each. Most everyone in the RP group knows what's up, but I know there are at least a couple of you who aren't in the chat so much and may be a little in the dark (not to mention maybe some lurkers who haven't gotten in on things yet, either), so consider this post to be for you guys.

Here's the short scoop: both storylines will run simultaneous to one another, but one will be a scifi-flavor adventure story in space, and the other will be a mystery story in a far-off (non-canonical) country with tinges of Victorian/industrial styling. (We'll try not to get gratuitously steampunky with it, though.)

One cool thing is that both of our stories are going to be a lot different than usual. For chapter 3a, we're going to try out a completely freeform, go-anywhere, do-anything style that will hopefully let people get to the bottom of the mystery on their own terms, and be completely player-driven. And, in 3b, our scifi space story, the usual RP iron-fist overlord is not running the show. Instead, 3b is being planned and guided by (in no particular order) the fantastic trio of Sheffer, Jeni, and John.

(In short, this means 3b is probably going to be the good one, so join that one.)

All things going as planned, the coming weeks will probably present one of the better opportunities for new folks to get involved. It's always a lot easier to jump in on the front of a story, rather than the middle or tail end of one. So, if you've been on the fence, consider it!
