It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Just like that, the gigantic figure instantaneously vanished with a quiet, rattling hiss, and the pumpkin thudded quietly to one of the hallway's throw rugs.

All was still. Nothing was damaged. Nothing was falling apart. Sheffer had his legs. Not a creature was stirring, not even a shark. And the decaying pumpkin that had served as the monster's head? It was actually pleasantly fresh, orange, un-carved, and uninjured from its fall, even.

...

Rock watched with a hard, intent, just slightly disgusted expression (almost a toned-down version of Mako's own) as Dr. Henshin fluttered slowly back up the stairs and out of sight.

There was awkward silence.

He sighed, closed his eyes, dipped his head, and massaged his nose bridge. With nary a word, he started back over to and up the stairs to the storage room, dragging his feet the whole way.

Just as she opened her mouth to respond to the shark, the disconnected, barely sentient mutterings of the batty old mouth cut her off, and drew her stare as he descended into the basement. She cast a bewildered glance to whomever she was within range to, before watching the peculiar Dr. Henshin work his mechanical mojo on their felled generator, and then flit away with all the nonchalance of having merely hit it to make it work again.

It was more than safe to say that the look Jam was passing around the room thereafter -- amid the deafening sound of calm coming from above -- perfectly mirrored Mako's. It took her a few seconds of solid, soundless staring to slowly turn, and then follow the other monkey upstairs.

His head laying in a pool of his own vomit, Sheffer opened his eyes to find actual light within the hall, things now strangely quiet and less... ghosty.

Moaning lightly, he allowed a small glance down to his missing lower body, only to find his legs right where they belonged, no sign of any cutting, slicing, or dicing to his being. Sighing in utter relief (and mentally slapping himself for having overreacted), he wearily pushed himself to his feet, still woozy from the experience.

Dragging his feet down the hall, Sheffer quickly found the door ajar to the bathroom, stepping inside. He made a bee-line for the sink, turning on the water and splashing the cold liquid against his face, washing away the grime of his own dinner. He did not seem to notice the open door to the storage room, or the voices echoing up from beyond the neighboring room, only staring up at the stressed expression on his face, tired and haggard.

Jack had gone silent and clung to Hoji in silent terror. She didn't understand how any of this could be happening, she wanted to start shooting but with the way everything warped and changed she wouldn't dare risk injuring someone because she thought it was some kind of pumpkin monster. So she did what she thought would be safest at the moment and that was stay still, and where she was happened to be pressed against a certain raccoon between him and a wall that deteriorated behind her. The pool table exploded in a shower of splinters and the walls crumbled over some cliff Jack was sure wasn't there before all this happened.

And then it stopped. The walls where the same, the cliff was gone, like she'd just woke up from some night mare clinging to Hoji. First things first she promptly shoved him away and looked back out into the hall. Sheff looked sick, but he had legs, all the damage done was gone, leaving only a pumpkin.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" She demanded as she walked up the hall, She didn't know where Rock was but she was sure he'd know.

It was by the grace of perfect timing that, following Jack's inquiry, a buck naked Ace abruptly burst forth from Rock's room's now open doors, aimlessly crash landing on the hallway floor. He darted his eyes back and forth like he was in the middle of a bad trip, shoulders huffing up and down in his dying panic. He looked up the hallway... and didn't say a word.

Soon after, the door to the rec room cautiously creaked open, one shell-shocked looking mole daring to peek her eyes out from within. A pool cue was still held tightly in her grasp. Likewise, she stayed perfectly silent, aside from the heartbeat she swore was loud enough to be picked up on radar.

And then there was Tank, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, blinking in disbelief and looking confusedly at the top of the hallway as he removed his earmuffs. "Mai wchord," he stated out of the blue, before chuckling and correcting himself mentally. "No, no..."

"Aye culd haff sworln aye had seen a spector!" he laughed with a sleepy smile. "Bot ees was jost thees pompkin... Hoho. Crlacy..."

And with that, he closed the door, and went back to sleep.

It was all very much a mindwrecking experience. The walls melted, the pool table exploded, suddenly there was a cliff at the end of the room. Hoji burried his head in his arms while giving cover to the sheriff. And a second later...

The room was normal again. It was then that he realized he and Jack were clinging. She wouldn't even get the chance to shove him as he backed away like she had some sort of virus.

"I...wish I knew..." He said as he peered down the hall after her.

Mako, dejected and forlorn and with his expression of amazement still on his face, slowly trudgeed out of the basement.
As he passed where he was discovered by the punch-hued monkey, he paused, seeing something out of the corner of his eye. It was...
...
A box with a yellow sticker on it.

"Homina-- hibbidy-- bwa--"

We're sorry, the shark has experienced an error and must be rebooted.

Daybreak came, and the exterior lights extinguished. The warm fragrance of Autumn permeated the peaceful abode; the corresponding breakfast had been one of pumpkin pie, pumpkin soup (a ghost's pumpkin soup, one could say), and pumpkin fritters, with roast pumpkin seeds as a take-along snack in lieu of the usual in-flight peanuts. It was with some measure of spite that Rock had prepared the morning's meal from that one, large ingredient; it was with a healthy sense of irony that he carved its remains into a hasty, but festive jack-o-lantern, and left it on the empty TV stand in the lobby for all to enjoy.

When the fuel truck finally came, he was all too happy to guide it to the hangar and get the aircraft fueled up. While it was still early yet, he had everyone's luggage loaded, and the plane out, gleaming proudly (or maybe a little "rustily" or "dustily" is more like it) in the bright morning sunlight.

The big, well-matured aircraft, built of corrugated metal and equipped with three large, loud, smokey propeller-driving motors, was probably not what the group thought they were signing up for. It was ugly, old, and smelled faintly of engine exhaust inside and out. The interior, with its weathered leather seats scrunched in close, was at least large enough to hold twelve or more, but the rear two seats had been removed and replaced by a small sofa, crudely strapped down by ratchet ties, purely to accommodate Tank. (There was also another ratchet tie in place to serve as a lapbelt for the tortoise's safety, of course.)

Once everyone was aboard and the hatches were shut, the lumbering machine made a terrifying, blaring, bumpy, roaring sort of takeoff down the dusty, uneven old dirt runway that ended in a drop off a sheer canyon. It only dipped a little before it eventually pulled up into the sky, though, and lazily began weaving its way through the many stone pumpkin-topped spires on its ascent.

Finally, they were off the ground, and out of that place.

"If anybody gets airsick, do it out the window," cautioned the headset-wearing monkey over the PA from his seat somewhere in the high front of the airplane. "We'll be stayin' pretty low, just a few thousand feet, so it ain't like there's any cabin pressure to worry about."

*Click.*

... He picked it up again.

"And there ain't any bathroom, so I hope you took care'a that before we left."

*Click.*

"... Of course, there's always the window for that, too, I guess."

Posting is purely optional at this point. I just wanted to cap things off, and segue into the next thread. But if anybody wants to, go for it.

The last passenger to board the aircraft, Juneau spent the time taking in the view of the region he'd spent the past month both camping and working in, and would board the plane with a short sigh and a mumble. "It's been memorable... More so my last night here. But... one can only hope the next site will... be 'interesting' as well."

As he sat in his seat, he began to search through his vest a moment prior to pulling out a moderately sized leather bound book, scraps of assorted paper and material popping out from numerous pages. As he reclined in the chair he'd open the book to a surprise.. A single folded in half drawing feel from the book, which he'd collect and inspect. It was an amusing drawing..well, At least to it's author. He'd reading the title caption of the draw a loud lowly to himself as he inspected it.

"...My friends the b... " He'd just sigh as he cut himself off and simply folded the paper and tucked it into one of his chest pockets. ".....I'll... look at it more later ,Myr.... " With that he'd simply return his focus to the book, which he'd likely spend the rest of the flight doing.
