It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

"Great... hundred miles to any other sort of civilization..." muttered Sheffer, only for his train of though to be abruptly ended by the CT's squeaking irritation of a voice. Before he could even reply to the robot, it had brought it's attention back to Toby, the hedgehog secretly glad he didn't have to bother with Target at the time.

Looking to Jack after Ace's "explanation" and seeing her annoyance, he looked amongst the others. No one else seemed to be willing to just get out with it, so without further ado, Sheffer gave her a nice quick summary.

"Well, I didn't run into most of these guys till later on... so my version is probably a bit off from theirs. Anyway, the main thing of it all is that ol' Eggy set up a base within a crater on an island. We just so happened to find a portal that he created... but..." He motioned a hand towards the white monkey outside. "Rock there couldn't get his hands on Eggman fast enough, and he ended up getting away. So, after a few architectural failures, we either had to choose coming here, or end up becoming a pile of ash back at the base. Of course, we managed to bring the lava with us, but eh..." He shrugged then. "Least the folks around here have a new story to tell to the tourists."

"If you're talking about my place around here... no, no address. It's pretty much the only inhabited place on the road out toward Pumpkin Hill, though." The mail didn't exactly run out that way—Not anymore. "You just take care, alright?"

And with that, he too wandered off in search of sustenance, with the sweet freedom of independence from those nosy cowpoke sorts. He hated owing anybody, anyway.

There wasn't much more to be said from the big-mouthed monkey in the progressive stillness of the night, so she sufficed silent smirks for proper responses, and mostly just listened to the plan as everyone picked their respective directions to go in. As the two-tailed wonder trotted off for his free meal, reducing their forces to starting numbers, Jam waved a wide-spread palm after him, as she called a parting, "Later, dude!" before exhaling a deep sigh.

Her hands moved to cradle her back, as she yawned and stretched, before she turned to her decidedly unpopular company, holding up two fingers.

"One, what direction, 'n how far?" Her middle finger curled downward, while her other hand stifled a pesky follow-up yawn. "An' two, d'you think we got time fer like a quick... y'know, two- or three- or four-... day... power nap?"

"Hey, bye!" Tails waved over his shoulder, and set off for the Diner.

After a few moments he reached the inside of the establishment, and looked around cautiously for the crowd; there they were, occupying the far corner. He pattered over quietly and sat down across from Toby and the Capsule Trooper adjacent to him.

He looked around the room, and located the resident waitress who was currently orbiting gently around the entirety of the tables.

"Could I have some french fries please?" He asked, before turning his attention to Toby.

"...Are you OK?" he asked the rat, interjecting between the ministrations of the somewhat high-strung robot and its more level-headed companion.

"Mnn.. " Juneau's focus was fixated on a partially cloth warped item held in his right hand as he walked towards the shinny metal paneled dinner, his dark purple hued chao like companion following behind him. He'd pause in step, seemingly without reason as he'd speak up. "... See if you can find where we left it.. Shouldn't have been bothered yet.. " He'd keep his focus fixed on the engraved stone fragment as he spoke, though still mildly aware of his surroundings.

Content with traveling in the open with the stars now out in the sky Myr simply remained his usually quiet self as he hovered behind his long term traveling companion, listening to his request only to shortly after begin to float off and upward in a seemingly random direction before pausing in light of another few comments.

"You don't have to right now of course... But... either way you know I'll make sure to have something ready we both enjoy.. Maybe they'll have a slice of cherry pie for you.. Just don't spend too much time looking right now.. "he'd shake his head before lowering his right hand a bit, shifting a glance towards his his hovering dark purple ghost like companion. " We can look for the kit after we eat if need be.. "

He'd shrug before turning his attention back towards the fragment held in his right hand, resuming his walk towards the dinner as Myr slowly faded into the nights sky as he floated off in an attempt to find said lost item while Juneau went off to obtain food for the both of them.

Toby winced as the antibacterial wipe touched his wound. "Gnngh... Yeah, some Sonic shaped robot got a couple'a shots off on my arm... And I got shocked later..." The kangaroo rat made sure to mumble that last part. Toby turned to the little fox that was asking about him. "I'll be fine, man. It's not as bad as it looks." He turned back to the sheriff.

"But yeah, green bean's mostly right. I was already travelling, checking out new boarding spots. When this whole mess went down, I thought I'd see for myself what was up. I met Rock and Jam on the island, and we did what we could to screw up Eggman's stuff. Messed up some robots, knocked over the water towers, killed a lot of the power... But then he called out that robot Sonic." The boy winced again as the wipe rubbed him the wrong way.

"Ah! Easy, easy... Hedge-dude fought that dumb heap alone for quite a while, and did a pretty good job, too." Toby shot a look back to Sheffer. "You're crazy, by the way." He turned back to the sheriff. "We would'a been busted if Rock hadn't gone nuts, though. Used a grenade on the bot, and then came up with this plan. We were all gonna attack together, but he jumped in by himself... tore the place to shreds with his bare hands. He knocked down this bridge, and we all climbed up into this big tower, right? By this time, we had a bunch more people, too." The whole time, Toby had been subconsciously making gestures to accompany his words with his free hand.

"Anyway, long story short, we got inside this cavern, and there were all these gem stones that like, mess with your head. I'm not sure what happened for you guys, but I started seein' robots everywhere. We ended up kickin' the crap out of each other. But that was all a set up, too! Here's the big news:" Toby paused for a second.

"The doc's been messin' with the emeralds. He said he like, fused 'em with another set. He's got like, this..." The kangaroo rat struggled with the words. "...this portal to other places... to other dimensions even! That's how we ended up dumped onto your front lawn. Egmman shot those combo emeralds through the portal. This dude back here..." Toby motioned to Ace. ..."caught the doc him off-guard with some kinda super-grenade, and it totally threw off his whole game-plan...but the cave walls were so thin, lava started spewin' everywhere. We couldn't catch the doc before he abandoned ship and cannon-balled into the portal. After that, we just did our best to get out without getting fried."

And now, he could breathe.

"...Does that make sense?" He huffed a bit. "Tell me that makes sense."

It seemed like every time someone gave a short explanation of the adventure, the "long-story-short" got longer and longer. Not to say that Hoji was complaining. It was nice to be enlightened on the situation at hand.

So engrossed in the kangaroo rat's side of the story, the raccoon didn't even notice a manta ray walking in. Once the story was done, he turned his body in his booth to face the story-teller.

"That's... incredible." Hoji said, not really sure how else to describe it. "Other dimensions? This sounds dangerous. I wonder what he plans to do with super emeralds... In any case, it can't be good. He has to be stopped!" the raccoon exclaimed with eccentric flare, accentuated by a raised fist, and furrowed brows.

"As an Agent of Justice, I am obligated to assist you." He said, looking between Toby and Ace, establishing the assumption that they would be continuing their journey to thwart the evil Dr. Eggman after a night or two of rest... and of course, implying that he would be going with them.

The gilded griffin smiled as she tended to the wounded. Once nice and clean she put bandages on the cuts that needed it, and ointment on any of the burns that looked in need of their cooling affect. When she was done she offered him the tube of ointment that was left over from the first aid kit.

"Here, Toby, keep a hold of this, if the burns start bothering you put more on, or I'll help." She offered him a warm smile. It was clear the sheriff's desire to help him was genuine. Finally she used another wipe to clean her hands as she stuff the trash into a plastic bag, also from the kit.

"Wow. None of that sounded good." Target said, his chipper demeanor cracking a little bit in lieu of the somber topic of 'super emeralds'

It was around then the waitress returned with a large tray, she skillfully remembered each party members order, setting the plates, and still missing drinks down at each respective table. "Just holla' if yall need anything else."

Sheriff Jack crossed her arms as she considered the information given to her. It was clear nothing these kid's had done was malicious in any way, and the story involving Eggman and his plans seemed to line up with the sort of thing she'd heard he's done before. "So, then our job would be to, stop Eggman's plans, retrieve the emeralds, somehow undo what he's done, and figure out how to do this while he maybe anywhere and anydimension with his portal thing'er... That's a bit daunting." She said honestly, but offered a determined smile as she looked at the group. "We'll have to get an early start tomorrow then, Any ideas as to where we'll begin?"

Seemingly oblivious to his boss, the CT proceeded to pry the hat off his head, it came off with some fuss given there was only a small hole cut in the hat for the targeting laser sight attached to his head. without his hat the CT's head looked... unusual, instead of the normal domed helmet he had smooth plating that was there only to cover the hole in his head left when the helmet was removed, in some places, the metal around the edges where blackened and told of old damage.

"Psst, Toby." He said leaning closer, offering his hat to the boy. "Will you sign my hat?"

Sure enough, there was already another signature inside the hat brim 'Target, take care of my little girl. -Andy Clarke'

Some where within the diner a capsule trooper exited a restroom inexplicably dressed in full standard issue CT winter equipment, though the fabric not entirely as white has it once was when new.. more so now that ti was covered in the yellowish dust of the desert.
The dusty faded white clad capsule trooper continued onward a few feet from the bathroom door before turning it's attention towards a small 'Doggie bag' held in his left hand. Within a few moments the capsule trooper had begun to unwrap the top of the crumpled bag and quickly removed one of of the several items of food within the bag, a now somewhat soggy taco.

With his new uncovered prize the faded white CT once again resumed walking, this time towards the front entrance of the diner.. at least... until he'd notice something off in the distance seated near several others. I fish...in the desert.. A large...fish. In the middle of a desert. Puzzled by this oddity the equally out of place dressed CT took a brief detour towards said fish and simply paused a few feet away from the fish and raised his free hand before shouting.

" FEESH! Why is a Fesh out here?! ..You.. Your.. We're not underwater.. BAD FESH!. " And with that.. the CT proceeded to throw the soggy taco towards Mako in an attempt to see if the so called fish was some form of desert mirage before quickly turning his attention towards the door. ".. Tau wants whha..? Now..? Awe..But....Fesh...Desert...Fine... Okay... " After seemingly argueing with himself, or at least an unseen, unheard counterpart, the Ct quickly dashed out of the diner to vanish into the night, nearly bumping into the Mantis as the insect stepped into the doorway as the CT opened the door to make his quick exit.

Slightly puzzled the mantis just shrugged off the capsule trooper as it exited the diner as quick as it could, having not seen the previous taco flinging incident. Juneau would continue into the diner before stopping several feet into the establishment to glance around a few moments to check for either a 'Seat yourself' or 'please wait to be seated ' sign before retuning his attention, at least for the moment, back to the tablet fragment held in his hand. ".. Nmm.. would have preferred if this was found in a slightly less.. barren environment... But... A well.. " he'd sigh before warping the cloth around the fragment prior to stuffing it into one of his vests pockets.

"We-- we attacked Eggman because he's the f**kin' bad guy, dude, c'mon. Imean you're supposed to be the superhero, 'ere."

But he wouldn't get much of a chance to get much further, sadly. Toby was quite keen on spilling out every juicy little nugget of info for the sheriff to sink her... teeth into (Beak? Whatever), causing the alley cat to instinctively roll his head upwards and eek out a quiet groan. Still, even if he blabbed out the existence of those shiny new emeralds, he didn't care to let loose that one of them happened to be carrying one in the very diner he sat in. So he was thankful for that. And the monstrous burger placed on the table in front of him (which he properly thanked the waitress for of course). ...Or at least he was until ol' Sheriff Jack was already assuming control.

"W'llnowwait just a cotton-pickin' minute 'ere, princess," he called, leaning out to the side to get a better view. "There was ne--"

Cue moist taco being flung at Mako's face, zipping mere inches away from a very caught-off-guard Ace.

"..."

"..."

"...There was never any 'we' in this to begin with. You wanted info, we gave you info. Neither of us have to deal with eachother, an' everyone's happy. What's wrong with that?"

"I'll have to agree with the cat," said Sheffer, taking an enormous bite from his burger, swallowing it within seconds. "I think I'd rather skip on the 'grand quest'. I've already have had enough adventuring for the last day or so, and really, I just want to go home."

After a few more gargantuan bites into the burger, it soon became nonexistent except for a few crumbs on the table. He immediately dove into the fries, continuing to speak.

"So, Sheriff, I think I mentioned it before, but it would be grand if you could give me a map. First thing tomorrow morning, I'm out of here. No offense, but this town already seems pretty bland."

Mako gave a very disturbed look at the taco that had quite soundly beaned him in the face, looking confusedly after the capsule trooper as he grabbed a napkin. He raised an eyebrow, mouthed "he with you?" at the entering Juneau, before turning his attention back to the group.
He turned his attention to Ace. "I think the payin' for dinner thing means she's dealin' with us," Mako muttered, distinctly disturbed, perturbed, and bemused by the taco to the shnozz. "Or, uh, that may not be what y'mean..."

He blinked, and not exactly thinking, looked at Sheff. "But what 'bout the--" the shark paused here, it hitting him half-sentence to avoid mentioning the hedgehog's shiny new gem of power. "... fact that we're in the middle of the desert. Might get dehydrated 'r somethin," he saved without too much of a noticeable skip in rhythm, resuming the removal of soggy lettuce and meat of questionable origin from his face.

Tails took the ketchup bottle nearby and proceeded to put far too much ketchup on his plate.

As the conversation drifted across the table, he began consuming French fries at an alarming rate, dipping them in the pile of ketchup and tucking them into his mouth until there was no room for any more.

He froze as the taco flew across room as the taco hit the shark, Mako, in the face. Tails' cheeks bulged, full of fries, and for the moment he looked like a very odd chipmunk. He looked around for the source of the item, and saw the capsule trooper running out of the restaurant.

Oh, he thought, capsule troopers, and began chewing again.

There was probably no stranger group of, well, people than capsule troopers on the face of the planet. A mass-produced army of uncertain origin and even less certain purpose, their base personality seemed naturally rooted towards eccentricity, and, while a great many of them seemed to function quite well and the majority of capsule troopers kept under control in circumstances such as military ranks, or well-managed enough organizations, when left to their own devices they usually took on a Personality--inasmuch as one might wear a favorite shirt, or possibly, in their case, a pair of Lucky Underpants--and got more and more crazy.

They weren't actively dangerous or harmfully insane, as a rule; they just seemed... unaware of the normalcy of the rest of the world, and usually tried to imitate the more interesting points of civilization without bothering to understand them or mimic any of the other, apparently more boring things like manners or an attention span. This usually resulted in a personality that very few people could begin to understand, let alone love, and so, in spite of a few very successful capsule troopers in positions like 5-star generals and corporation executives, there were a great deal of lone capsule troopers. Not at all unhappy with their estrangement, they seemed to thrive on the fringes of society, occupying niche roles such as bungee-jumping-window-washer or river-dancing-mine-sweeper, and entertaining the few people who saw them as more than insufferable or annoying. The rest of them managed to cope quite well in societal roles where their rather uniquely hardy make kept them in business in heavy industry and law enforcement.

Tails watched as the Capsule Trooper, clad in full winter camo, ran out into the desert, and reflected that it did indeed take all sorts to make a world.

Gradually his attention was brought back to the conversation, which seemed to be taking a turn downhill, and quietly looked on with an expression of concern, which was interrupted only by a constant inflow of ketchuppy fries.

[OoC: I ad-libbed a bit here with capsule trooper stuff Matt; feel free to Deciseively and Terminal Veto Things.]

Rock, too, seemed to deflate a little once everyone was gone. It wasn't a big change—His shoulders just kind of slumped, his eyes looked a little narrower, and he rubbed at the back of his sore neck for a second. He soon set to walking, dragging his feet just a little as he went. When Jam asked her questions, though, he perked up, albeit falsely.

"Aw, c'mon, you're tired?" asked the monkey, while failing to look as remotely energized as he sounded. (His eyes were dark underneath.) "I was thinkin' we could have some fun or somethin'. But I guess if all you wanna do is sleep..."

Short as it was, Sheffer did notice the shark's slight pause in sentence, shooting him a look. He knew immediately what Mako was about to say, but did not bother mentioning it himself. The last thing he wanted was for the Sheriff to pester him about the shining rock, nor have it "confiscated" for whatever far-fetched reason Jack could come up with. Besides, he hadn't even decided what he would do with the hybrid emerald.

"She only said a hundred or so miles from anything worthwhile," he said, playing along with Mako's false act. "Only take a couple of hours on my board to get to wherever that may be. Anyway, if I leave early enough, it won't be too hot."
