It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

For once in his life, Toby Cotton shut his big mouth, if only for the fact that things were happening so bloody fast. Through every act of their little play from the opening confrontation to the, "OH, that guardian of the master emerald" happy ending, the yellow kangraoo rat did his best to pay attention, but was admittedly a little dstracted.
It could have been the intensity of the situation, the constant stream of events, or just the pure adrenaline pumping through his veins, but up until now Toby had almost forgotten about the various beatings he had taken. He cast a glance down to the arm Silver Sonic got a clean piece of. It was burnt pretty badly, and when Toby went to touch it, he quickly realized that was a bad idea.
His jaw was caked with a dribble of blood from where Rock had knocked him senseless earlier, and was trobbing with every beat of his heart. Not fun. Add that to the fact that Toby had minor burns all over his body from the who-knows-how-many volt shock that he took from Jam's all-star catch, and one could see why Toby wasn't feeling as super-special-awesome as he normally did. Hell, his clothes were burnt to a crisp. The kid looked rough, and he felt rougher. He wasn't usually the kind to go ask for help, but...
"Yo, uh... Sherrif?" The boy made his way over to the griffin, strategically keeping the crispy arm behind him. "You guys wouldn't happen to have some, like... bandages and stuff layin' around, wouldja? Not that I, uh..." He shuffled a bit nervously. His free hand slowly moved upwards, playing with his ear. "...Like, a first aid kit or somethin'?"

The masked avenger stood there on his side-flipped car perch with a cant of his head as the griffon's stern demeanor softened at the mere plea of the two-tailed fox, whose identity Badge silently noted. And, for the record, the echidna's as well. This was the first time he'd seen them in person... "Man... Knuckles looks a lot shorter in the footage I've seen..." he thought to himself.
He hopped down, landing in front of Jack, but making sure not to invade her personal space, "So..." he trailed off, looking at Jack, then toward Tails who seemed to be the most abreast of the situation while being willing to talk, "I'm sure there are more relaxing places we can chat. Like the diner," he said with a glance toward the monkey with pale fur who had made mention of being hungry.

Mako looked around at the gathered nervously, taking a sip of the water bottle. Confused? Confused didn't cover the half of it. He had been taking one punch to the metaphorical stomach after the other, even if he had stayed out of the fray (on that note, he cringed a bit as he looked at Toby, this time actually noticing the injuries). The shark was almost as confused as the sheriff was, except he was much more willing to wear a look of pure bewilderment on his face at the events taking place.
He paused, looked at the wacko in the spandex suit, and suddenly became acutely aware of how blind panic tended to make one hungry. "Food sounds good," he muttered, speaking to nobody in particular, dearly hoping that the sheriff would consent to this idea before shooting someone, or before one of the members of their party passed out from whatever impending-medical-emergency they had hovering over their heads. He looked hopefully around, and suddenly felt a pang of guilt for his uselessness and ignorance towards their plight. ... And then he was hungry, confused, and altogether unhappy, and that guilt was playing second fiddle.

At the "super hero's" words, Sheffer began to realize how hungry he truly was. It had been nearly over a day since his last meal, having ran short at his now invaded apartment. With the added strain of traveling and fighting, his body needed energy, and this seemed like a suitable time to do so.
"I'll agree with the 'coon here," he said to the Sheriff. "I'm starving..."
He then turned around remembering the other presence behind him. It was the griffin's robotic companion, of course, the cannon-arm still directed in his direction only a couple of feet away.
"And would you stop pointing that thing at me?" he asked the CT. "I'm not going anywhere, little guy. Don't need to show off the firepower..."

Rock just shook his head in response to Jam, and mumbled something about how it was "not worth waiting to see" as he continued his walk. He didn't get far, though, before he overheard quite enough, stopped and puffed a long, teeth-clenched sigh. His leather gloves creaked with the tension. Jack had started being a lot more diplomatic and reasonable, for sure, but her choice of words (especially "kids") did not sit well with the older, more experienced primate.
"A sheriff's jurisdiction is to—one—county," he said slowly, deliberately and instructively over his shoulder. His tone had straightened out and became much less colloquial. "The threat to this town will be over the second we get out of it." His eyes flitted ever so briefly onto Sheffer as he said that. Had he noticed that he was the one who swiped the emerald (and thus, the beacon for all trouble to come)? Possibly. Nonetheless, he turned the rest of the way around and proceeded to explain himself a lot more than he normally would, albeit with a heavily condescending tone, giving no opportunity for response. "This is a matter of international security, and I'd have to be a lot stupider than I am to share this kind of intel with civilian law enforcement." The way he said that last part, one might think it was the dirtiest sequence of words to ever leave his mouth. "—Especially any as green as you."
Withdrawn from duty or not, there were times when the "military" in him showed through more than just the dog tags hanging around his neck, and that was one of them. Anything below MPs on the chain of authority may as well have been janitors with badges as far as he was concerned, and he certainly didn't trust them with news about all new super-powerful mega emeralds that would draw every opportunist and adventurer-wannabe from all corners of the globe if it hit the wrong ears. It probably didn't help matters any that Rock was a little bit of a lawbreaker in the town back when Jack was appointed to her position, so he knew precisely how long (or not long) she'd been at it, and plenty about her headline-worthy youth, too.

"Shut up, Lochert." She said abruptly, her tone turned to one of anger. Her stiff expression returning as she narrowed her eyes once more. Rock was acting the way Jack was expecting him to, with a lack of respect towards anything or anyone but himself.
"Now I'm offerin' to help ya'll out, I've got Food," she turning a much more peaceful look to the shark and hedgehog, "First Aid," Toby, who for some reason her deputy was creeping up to. "Change's of cloths and hot showers at the station." This time she looked to Jam, offering a half smile. Another primate, she was hopeful she was less like Rock. "An' just because Eggman's outta my jurisdiction at the moment, doesn't mean I don't intend on helpin' hunt him down. He's a wanted criminal and it's well within my authority to go onna manhunt."
"And as for you, Lochert." She looked to rock again. "Yer just in the business of makin' trouble for the sake of trouble. These kids are obviously in needa some help, and rest, ya'll can go run off fer days on end but the rest of these guys ain't super solders, they ain't solders at all. So shut yer yap and you'll be welcome to my hospitality too."
She motioned behind her waving a hand. "Stations two blocks thadda way, Ya'll got it in ya to walk?"
Deputy Target had looked down a bit almost in a pouting manor when Sheff told him to knock it off. While diverting his eyes he noticed Sheff's board and started to examine it carefully. When he looked up and took the time to examine the group he started to inch his way in a not so stealthy manor towards Toby. Target didn't seem to be paying any attention to the Sheriff as he crept up behind the boy and started to examine his board too. This one seemed familiar, but both seemed like well taken care of boards. "Hn, where've I seen this'un before." The costumed trooper said, rubbing his non-existent beard on his non-existent chin.

"Hnnth"
The super hero in the group snorted at the end of Rock's speach, but before he could say anything smart allicky, the griffon spoke up with a more direct approach.
Badge let out a sigh, and shrugged. There was a brief flash of white and his costume disappeared. He was wearing a leather jacket. Some branded t-shirt under it, and a pair of cargo pants that were tucked into his boots. Top it all with a golden scarf.
No...he wasn't really dressed for this area. Good thing it was night time.

The echidna was... genuinely unprepared for a town sheriff that couldn't recognize who he was. He never went out to make himself a star like Sonic was, and he already didn't like throwing his weight around like some big-fisted bully, but the griffin already seemed to be doing something similar, and far as he was concerned, he owed the monkey and his friends at least one kind of favor. They did... technically, 'rescue' him from Eggman, after all. And succeeded in wrecking one of his bases. That earned them points in his book.
Either way, he was caught in a sticky position when he realized his unintended fame wasn't as far reaching as he might have thought, so he was secretly glad Tails was kind enough to explain for him. And now it seemed like he'd done everything he could for now. Having little else to say, his arms suddenly crossed again, his expression folded into that familiar grimace. There was still a small fire, a tinge of anger burning in his brain. He didn't like this cowgirl, but this wasn't a problem that could simply be punched away.
"Tails," he called, still looking to the rest of the group. "Any clues on the Master Emerald?"
"Yo, woah, Rock, hold up," Ace finally blurted as he quickly shuffled towards the simian. He wasn't quite cupping his mouth around the the monkey's big monkey ear, It was clear he was trying to be quiet enough for the sheriff not to hear.
"Look, I'm all for blowin' off Calamity Jane here, but we ain't about to go walking way the hell back home like this." He motioned his head towards the rest of the group, namely Toby, who seemed to have gotten the worst of it. "If we aren't stayin' here, then what the hell are we doing?"

Something the officer had said put a nasty looking grin on his face, the kind of which meant he had been given some sort of shot to say something terribly harsh. He might have been just about to, but Ace's timing was good.
"I still got a place out this way, man," he reassured Ace (while neglecting to mention a couple critical details about said place regarding its upkeep and lack of utilities). "Still, I'm not the one pushin' people around, here, so, you guys make your own decisions."
He got in a little closer, and spoke very quietly.
"It's what the green guy—Chef, or whatever—It's what he's carryin' that I'm worried about. She's gonna bully it out of'im and claim it as 'evidence' if she hears about it. Imagine the publicity some hick-town cop would get for 'recovering' one, and you'll see why I'm worried..."

With a sigh that was torn between disappointment and relief at the vulpine genius' intervention, Jam conceded that a fight (at least one between the red guardian and the sheltered sheriff, anyway) wasn't happening. She was more than ready to leave for the aforementioned diner, too, when Bickerfest II broke out between the clashing egos of the monkey and griffin. Her stomach growled impatiently to remind the monkey that it, too, thought sustenance was just a dandy idea, but all consideration of chewable things flew out the window at the haughty cop's offerings.
... Now she was slightly more offended than before, notably more confused, and just a little self-conscious, to boot. She could get the respective looks to Mako and Sheffer regarding food, sure. And band-aids for Toby, right on. But why she earned the glance for changes of clothes (probably something snazzy in inmate orange) and hot showers pulled the corners of her mouth down steeply, while she not-so-discreetly evaluated her attire and snuck a whiff of a convenient pit. ...Not exactly champagne and roses, but pretty dang good for someone fresh from a lava pit sauna, or so she thought.
She might have actually been brazen enough to ask about it, too, when her crippling ADD intervened yet again, as her suddenly brighter green eyes blinked wide open at the Super 'Coon's new threads.
"Dude!" Exclaimed the salmon-colored girl irreverently. "When did -- S**t, you're fast! Just like Bolt Boar!"
Apparently, the time for srs business was long expired.

Mako looked between Rock, the sheriff, the now-bereft-of-spandex raccoon, and the event at large, raised his eyebrows, and proceeded to slap his forehead. "I hit my head too hard on that tank," he lamented, some distant part of his mind believing that he was right, because this was all too weird.
With a tone of exasperation in his voice, he looked around. "Look, can we please get this sorted out before, I dunno, monkey-man gets used for a nice game of bullet ker-plunk, and 'fore this place catches on fire, too?" the shark said, knowing full well that his plea would have all of no effect. "Or, I dun' even know, 'fore the superhero guy loses any more of his clothes, some sorta robot or somethin' comes to try and steal our underwear." Why he was saying this when he had a pronounced lack of pants was a mystery. "... or we could at least go somewhere with a bit more in the way of air conditionin'." Of course he couldn't resist a complaint about the temperature.
He paused, realized in full force that he was likely to come off as some sort of person who found need to burst into every argument with 'mediation', and groaned. "Y'know, nevermind, let's see if the monkey-man and the wingy-flingy-thing eat eachother's faces 'r somethin'."

[]kinda long, sorry about that.[]
"Wait a minute!" Gasped the Ct, as he jumped back from Toby and his gear like it should have set fire at any minute. "That's...'New Leaf'!" He continued, looking up at Jack like she should know what was going on.
The Sheriff was disappointed that the crew here didn't give a damn about what she was offering. It's almost like they where avoiding making a decision against rock. Which, needless to say, was infuriating.
"Yeah, it's a Gear, that green guy's got one too." She said in a bland and exasperated voice.
"This is TOBY FREAKIN COTTON!" The deputy exclaimed waving his hands towards Toby like he was some sort of prize on a game show. "OH NO HE'S HURT!" Now Target's voice was approaching a high pitched sequel, each word was starting to make the sheriff cringe.
"Calm down Target, I'm tryin' to get to that, but these boys seem more keen on standi-"
"BLOOD!! EEK!-KKZZZTT- RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeee!" The defective voice unit had its fill and the CT's squealing now came out as high pitched feed back. Jack covered her ears as the CT turned and ran for the line of emergency vehicles like Toby was about to explode, flailing the whole way while emitting that noise from hell.
eeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-KKZZZT
The CT returned carrying a pair of first aid kits (You know, in case Toby's one of those 'bleeders'), still emitting that noise until he slid to a stop in front of Toby. "Lets go and get you patched up! Are you going to make it? Do you think this is going to affect your performance in the next race?! Oh your SO going to get scouted for the pros! Do you have any sponsors yet?"
Target rambled as he stepped behind Toby and started to push him towards the diner wither he wanted to go or not. This all transpired in seconds, and left Jack flabbergasted. It took her a moment to shake off all the weird her deputy emitted in such a short time and looked to Mako, Sheff, Knuckles and Tails.
"Uh... Hungry? My treat." She offered motioning towards the dinner which apparently the Deputy had decided was where he wanted to spend some time hero worshiping.
"Can I carry your gear for you, Mr. Cotton?"

When Toby heard the words "New Leaf" come of the capsule trooper's mouth, a grin lit up his face like a casino. Somebody recognized his board. Not even being roughed up a bit was going to stop Toby from taking advantage of the situation and ham it up for a fan, but by the time Cotton had turned around to speak, the thing was wigging out pretty hard.
"I... uh..." Toby stood speechless as he watched the trooper spaz, rushing all over the place to nab him some first aid. "I'm not dyin'..."
When the crazed CT made his way back to Toby, the kangaroo rat couldn't even get in a "thank you before he was assaulted with a slew of questions. He waited until Target was finished, and then took a deep breath.
"I should be fine, I've got a week before my next race, I'm definitely hoping to get scouted, aaaand..." A surprised look slid across Toby's face for just a second. "...Yeah, actually. Strata Sky Sports threw me a sponsorship deal a few weeks back."
All too happy to hand over his extra weight, Toby gladly obliged when Target asked to carry his board for him. "Phew, thanks dude. Some patching up sounds pretty wicked right about now..." He turned to Jack as he caught the tail end of her last sentence. "...and I think everybody's starving."
From behind him, one of his Gemini chao's bellies was growling loudly. "...Oooh, ooh..." The chao cooed softly, obviously hungry.
"But..." Toby shot Rock a hesitant look. He wasn't exactly keen on completely bailing on the others, even if he was hurt. In addition to that, Toby had a few questions for Rock that had definitely gone unanswered. A short silence hung in the air, as if Cotton was awaiting a response.

Tails turned to Knuckles as the Echidna inquired about the Master Emerald.
"Eggman must've sent the Master Emerald to wherever he sent the others. Maybe to a base somewhere, or even to another dimension..." Tails said, his gaze unfocusing slightly as he attempted to visual what Eggman had done with them.
Visions of strange, inverted raceways and non-euclidean mini-planets hovered before his eyes.
Of course, they'd always got them back before.
"Well, we've always got them back before!" he said with possibly unnecessary enthusiasm.
"But..." he trailed off again and rubbed his chin with a finger, "I don't know what to do with them when we find them. Eggman's new emeralds might not be good for much if they're so unstable. He might not even know what--"
He jumped and whirled around, fur standing on end as Target's amplified screeching cut through the air with all the intensity of rotary saw.
He watched as the unfolding scene of fan and celebrity played out in the middle of the post-apocalyptic dream-scape that the down-town of the city had turned into. It was oddly soothing. He looked around for a minute, apparently distracted by another thought, and then looked back to Knuckles.
He looked back at the Griffin.
"...I'll come with you," he said, and then turned to Rock.
"Won't you come?" he said, "I think it'd be better if we all stuck together."

"I'm hungry, I want food, excuse me," said Sheffer quite bluntly, brushing past the sheriff with board in hand. His hunger, the near screech of the CT, and just the overall hesitation of the group to get moving was getting on his nerves, becoming tired of waiting. Nor did he need the overall approval of the white primate to go do such a simple task as ordering a meal, as it seemed the whole group wouldn't take a step in any direction without Rock's guidance.
Making a beeline straight to the diner, he pushed through the doors, barely giving the interior a glance before sitting down. He must look like an utter ruffian, with his dirtied clothes and just plain unclean look. Traveling across oceans and islands and fighting robots and monkeys with strange electric powers did that to a person.
Now to only wait for some service...
