It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.
I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.
I love you guys. God bless.

Toby overheard Rock's cry to the fire-fighters, and rifled through his bag again. At any given time, a good half of that bag's contents were water bottles. For one reason or another, it just seemed like Toby never stopped being thirsty. His hand triumphantly grabbed one of the remaining containers.
"...Here, dude." He lobbed the bottle at Mako.

Sheffer had been the last to hop down from the portal, as he landed softly with his board underfoot. Glancing to the others, he made haste to remove himself from the area, the projectiles of lava not suiting him.
After riding off away from the general vicinity of the portal, he had taken a seat down onto a bench, far away from any danger. Sighing lightly in relief, his board lent against the seat beside him, his eyes glanced down to the pear-shaped emerald in his hand. It still glowed its dark blue color, reflecting some of the light from the falling lava. Not having anything else to actually do with the gem, he shrugged off the pack on his back, placing the emerald inside for safe keeping... for the moment, anyway.
Throwing the pack back over his shoulders, he watched as the portal proceeded to let a near literal hell be unleashed onto the ground below, only for it to stop moments later. Having been unphased through the ordeal, Sheffer had just stayed put on the bench, seeing another burst into flames over a ways.

It's a good thing his face was hidden behind that helmet of his, because upon the griffin's arrival, he would have definitely been displaying a very distinct "Her again?" face.
As the lava spread, Badge too decided to inch away from it, to higher ground. He hopped onto another abandoned car, looking at the griffin as Rock taunted her. He canted his head slightly.
"Come now, sherrif. We can't very well arrest these guys. We have no proof that they were behind it," He said before looking at the pool of lava, which was now much bigger a few seconds ago, "I am certainly curious about how this happened, though..." He added while thinking that the city clean-up had their work cut out for them with this one.

Staring at the on-fire bench with a sort of dazed and dizzy expression, he turned as Toby adressed him. The obviously-frazzled shark blinked at the water bottle as he (to his own surprise) caught it before it bonked him in the forehead. He looked between the water and the rat for a second, before he broke out into a grin and laughed a bit. He looked distinctly as though he could have given either Toby or the bottled water a hug, and he settled on the latter, giving a thumbs-up to his generous benefactor (as it were). "Thanks, man."
Without a huge deal of ceremony, he proceeded to dump half the bottle on his head, and even that quick reprieve seemed to have lifted Mako's mood significantly. Taking a quick sip of what remained, he exhaled heavily, looking around. Okay, now he could face the ensuing disaster. Or, more accurately, try to understand what was going on, keeping his eye on the spandex-clad individual. As soon as he thought he had it, nooo, the world has to throw him a screwball.

Her wings opened and she fluttered back, her deputy's did well to run when hot flaming death started pouring out of the portal. And then it stopped, just as suddenly as the sky burped open it closed again, leaving the lava to cool and pool where it had fallen. Rocks words didn't seem to phase her at all, her expression remained one of contained rage, this was the worst thing to happen since she became sheriff. When the bench burst into flames her arm tensed and grabbed the butt of her gun but she didn't draw it, but as far as being startled goes, that was all they got. The park, which had been painstakingly renovated, was now a disaster. A long sigh escaped the sheriff as the lava drift came to a slow grinding halt, She waved her deputy closer.
"Cool this place down," She said, the CT nodded and turned to the fire fighters.
"Over this way!" He called, his voice an almost feminine octave, it was such a misplaced noise to come from a CT that some of the fire fighters started to snicker as they dragged the hoses over. Soon water would arc over the line of wrecked cars, the group Jack was determined to arrest, and into the lava, smoke billowed from where the water hit, the lava cooling into rippling sheets of rock.
"Mr. Lochert, and accomplices. I am Sheriff Jack Clarke," She started, an emphasis on Sheriff, as when she'd met Rock last (or you could say arrested last.), she did not hold that title. She released her gun and motioned towards the waiting police cars on the side walk. "If you'll kindly come this way, my deputy's will escort you back to the station."
"Come now, sheriff. We can't very well arrest these guys-"
"We?! Boy, there is no 'we'. There is you, vigilante scum, and there is the law. An as the law, Ya'll are comin' down to the station, where I will sort this out and since ya'll look like clowns after the rodeo come through, I don't much reckon you want to start a fight with me after burnin' up that nice park."
The police started to narrow in on the group, more precisely, the capsule troopers under her command, less then a hand full, stepped off the cars once reasonably sure the ground wasn't molten anymore. The CT with the all too high voice approached the hedgehog on the park bench, his shiny silver over sized grenade launcher of a arm raised to point towards the hedgehog sitting on the bench. "Hey, she means you too, Spikey!" The robot said waving the variable cannon of an arm. As one would expect, the heat, steam and water, didn't phase or slow the CT's at all.

The hedgehog did his best to attempt hold back a snicker at the CT's outrageously high voice. The guy was so small, it almost seemed to fit, but one couldn't be too menacing with a weapon with that sort of tone.
Biting his lip to hold back a laugh, Sheffer glanced between the CT and its weapon. After closer inspection, the CT did seem a little serious, and that cannon-like arm couldn't be there for no particular reason. Giving out a huff, he stood, looking down at his new escort.
"Alright, buddy, I'm movin', I'm movin'..." he muttered, walking towards the rest of the group.

Really? That was just about the only flabbergasted thought doing donuts in Jam's head as she watched the unfolding situation with the fuzz, summoning her jaw to the ground. After the day-- night... the last 48 hours she'd had, this was just about the anvil that broke the camel's back, when a feather could have done the job.
Was there even such a thing as good cops anymore? She didn't know, but before she could become too terribly indignant, she bit her tongue, moving in closer to Rock, and flashed an expression of utmost distaste that seemed to ask, "You know this broad?"
Much as she really liked to play tough girl, too, her act was just about spent, and she was really too tired for daring escapes from corrupt power-mongering badges, especially when surrounded by presumably loaded barrels, which, unlike her paler contemporary, she was definitely not acclimated to. She said nothing though. Just offered their white-furred ring leader a raised-browed, shrug-accompanied glance he knew the meaning of well: "I'll follow your lead."

"Hey, hold on. 'Vigilante scum'? Isn't that a bit harsh?" Wild Badge interjected. He rose a correcting finger into the air, "I am a hero of justice. Friend to the innocent. SCUM is not a proper descriptor by any means, Sheriff Griffon."
He said, putting his hands on his hips. But he wasn't putting up a fight. Not about to resist an officer of the law..he didn't expect that she'd be able to keep him in custody for long, anyways.

Rock smirked at Jam in that wry, sort of carefree way, and subtly dismissed her concerns about having to run, or fight, or whatever else with a couple downward waves of his hand. At the going rate, they wouldn't have to say much of anything... The superhero seemed to be taking offense (and attention) for the moment. So, the accused primate just relaxed a little, and started ambling around, not straying too far, but looking at the others who had fallen through the portal.
Tails, Knuckles, Ace, Sheffer, Mako, Toby, Kyle, and Jam were all present there with him. "Lotta people..."
...
"I'm hungry."
Yeah, he was 100% out of adventure mode for the day, no doubt about it.

It seemed to take Ace a moment or two to sum up the situation at hand. And, really. Could you blame him? Watching from the sidelines was starting to get old, and this honor-and-duty cowgirl/knight was starting to get on his nerves. A number of thoughts swirled through his synapses, and ultimately boiled down to one burning question he found himself unable to not ask:
"Are these guys for f**in' real?"
Just today, he had been riding a bi-plane with the one and only Tails, chased by giant robo-fish, blown up, nearly drowned, nearly shot, subjected to mind control, and half-scorched by molten goddamn magma. Thoughts of returning home in time for dinner had long since passed, and now, after finally being spit out in the literal middle of nowhere (caught between a cowboy chick ripped from a century old headline and a superhero keen to arguing), he and all his little buddies were about to be taken in, after keeping the world safe from Eggman's clutches for another day.
"Like, is this even really happening, or I, did I get hit in the head with onna Eggman's ridiculous-rays or some-- wha--?"
That last, unfinished question of Ace's however, came not from frustration, but from surprise. Knuckles' meaty gloves patted the cat's shoulder (almost pushing him aside) as he passed, straight in the direction of the town sheriff.
"Ma'am," he started in an... oddly collected tone (for Knuckles, anyway). Crossing his arms, he stood tall, and made no attempt to hide it, his eyes on level with her forehead (or hat, as the case may be). "I've seen what these guys have done myself. I was there. Everyone of them have been starting fights, vandalizing property, and causing a lot of chaos and unrest."
"...And all against Dr. Eggman. What's happened to your town is his doing. They were trying to stop this, and I can vouch for that. And if that doesn't satisfy you," he said, uncrossing his arms. "...You can feel free to take it up with me."
There was almost a glint in his eye.

The Sheriff looked from person to person, her arms still crossed she looked at the red creature. She wasn't sure what he was, but she could tell he was built for fighting. The sheriff let out a long sigh, motioning towards the still cooling molten park.
"Look, Kid, I'm sure there's a good reason fer alla this, and I'm not so dumb as ta think ya'd intentionally burn up the park then wait 'round ta get arrested. But seein' as you came from, and are some way involved with, the portal'ta hell ya opened up here, I've gotta duty to take ya in, all of ya. If you're wantin' a fight I'm happy to oblige, but don't ya think it'd be easier ta come to the station an give'a statement?" She sounded a little exasperated, it was such a big group, and this was so utterly weird she wanted to be sure she did things by the book.
"Now please, can we get this over with?" She said in a firm tone, trying to expedite things. Upholding the law was a duty entrusted to her by other people who couldn't (or wouldn't) do it themselves. Something maybe knuckles would understand past his knee jerk reaction to punch things. But if not it's not like Jack hasn't had a suspect resist before.
The CT trooper escorted Sheff back towards the group, the other deputy's did much the same, trying to get everyone together into one group, would make the processes that much simpler. The sheriff removed her cuffs from her belt and they clicked open. "Well, Mr...?" She asked looking at the red one so set on making this hard.

Knuckles really impressed Rock right then and there. He had been unsure of how to feel about Sonic and his friends for some time, especially the red guy who seemed kind of... worse about raging than himself, but he was incredibly level, so much so that it set Rock to a slightly pissed mode when the griffin failed utterly to recognize what she was dealing with.
"Sheltered hick," Rock sputtered in disbelief, "you don't even know the guardian."
He turned and motioned to whosoever would be willing to come with him, and just started walking away.

"Hey, wait a sec!"
Tails spoke up. There had been a brief silence as his fur had de-ruffled. The swirling chaos of the previous thirty seconds was still weighing heavily on his shoulders, and the distant sounds of sirens was doing little to improve matters.
He addressed Rock as the simian made to leave.
"Maybe she doesn't know who Knuckles is, but she's the police, and—if she doesn't know who Knuckles is, maybe the rest of the city won't either. Remember when the Police started chasing Sonic because they thought he stole a chaos emerald?—He didn't," Tails added with a brief, meaningful look at the Griffin, "he'd never do something like that, but the Police thought he did, and then the military started chasing him, and then the whole city was all messed up because no-one could catch him and no-one would listen to him. Wouldn't it be better to not commit a real crime, now, and let whatever happens, happen?"
He turned to the griffin, his voice pitch escalating slightly as his address increased in intensity.
"And that's Knuckles the Echidna, he protects the Master Emerald, the most powerful energy source in the world, from falling into the hands of someone like Dr. Eggman. You don't need to arrest him, and even if you did he could break the hand-cuffs anyway, so it wouldn't mean anything! If you just let us come back to the station with you by ourselves, and explain, we won't do anything to try and escape..."
He turned his gaze back to Rock and the rest of the others. It was largely earnest and free of anything except a seeking of confirmation, but behind the bland expression, faint desperation lingered.
"...right?"

Jam was... admittedly also impressed by Knuckles, but for all the wrong reasons. Truth be told, the strawberry-hued simian was more floored by the echidna's eloquence beyond grunts and snarls than his integrity.
What was even more alarming, however, was the local law enforcement's response to his olive branch. She couldn't help but feel a little irritated when the restraints came out, and not very quietly, asked, "... since when d'you need t'be cuffed for statements?" with a huff to no one in particular.
Quite frankly, she didn't really know what to make of Tails' mini-panic attack, but refrained from providing a reply on the off chance she didn't feel like complying with it, and saying nothing until she noticed Rock's signal to take their leave.
"Hang on," she whispered, reluctantly edging towards him, and away from the griffin's throwdown with Knuckles. Her eyes were still glued to it, as she added distractedly, "I think this' about to get good."

The sheriff was about to start reaching for her gun, these kids where making it clear they hadn't any sort of respect for the situation they where in or the sort of damage they caused to the city. But then the little fox spoke up, and Jack's hard glare softened as she listened to his plea.
"Knuckles?" She said her eyes shifting to the guardian. She set the cuffs back on her belt, tipping her hat back with one hand. "Never much liked how they handled that situation..." She thought aloud. Her deputies stared at her now, as the sheriff seemed to be standing down, but that doesn't mean she was moving.
"If he's Knuckles, and that really was Eggman's doin's, then you boy, must be Mr. Prower." She said looking at the adorable fox boy. The Sheriff had a weakness for cute things and children, and the fox snuggled well into both of those categories.
"Sheeeerriiiff." The defective CT whined from behind the green hedgehog.
"Now Target, let's not be to hasty, I don't much want history repeatin' itself," She said to her deputy, she turned to the others. "Get, I'll handle these kids. Start workin' on securing the area, no one in 'er out." It's nice how it took an 8 year-old to get her to calm down.
Target made a disapproving noise, or as close to it when you lack lungs or the need to breath in order to huff.
The Sheriff looked at the group, giving each of the group the once over. They certainly looked like they'd been fighting. And she knew from personal experience Lochart was the fighting type as well. "Look, I won't arrest ya 'less you give me cause to, I want to know how this happened, and I suppose, I need ta know the likelihood of Eggman bringin' more doom to my town. You mighta guess I'm kinda concerned here."
