The fierce rays of the sun scorched the neck of the ferret who was aimlessly wandering the desert landscape. Almost out of water and barely sustained as he reserved his food and water supply, Desmond started to get a bit worried on the amount of time he could still spend out in the open. After being chased from Gigalopolis during a small riot, he had not the slightest notion on what to do next.
As he began to contemplate his next course of action, a sudden chain of noises made him flinch as the sound of gunfire broke his train of thought. As he drew closer to the point of the commotion he noticed a makeshift campsite with, what seemed to be a gunfight developing between two parties. He then knelt down and began surveillance on the scene with a pair of binoculars .
As he surveyed the shoot out he noticed was a vague appearance of a sharks head in the water. Pulling out his rifle he took aim at the figure’s head until he noticed two females, a bird and a cat, taking cover from what seemed to be an aggressive and armed bat. He focused his attention on his new adversary, taking a slight sense of guilt as the women were the only reason for him switching targets. He took aim at the figures hands and slowly squeezed the trigger. “Hopefully I picked the right side”, he thought as he let the round fly loose.

"Wat."
Juke's shades were swiped.
What happens when one steals Juke's sunglasses? As important as they seemed to him, there must have been some big, expected result, but in reality, it was kind of underwhelming. His tiny, beady little black eyes were exposed, he squinted and shielded his face from the desert sun and looked utterly bewildered. He then... whipped out a second pair from his pocket.
Sometime in the middle of this change, however, there was a shot fired. In all his erratic movement, targeting one of his hands would have been difficult, but the huge, honkin', silvery-colored gun he was carrying? Not so much. When the stranger's bullet hit, the weapon jolted in Juke's grip (such that it almost jumped out completely), blurted a fart of smoke and sparks, and split into a bunch of dangling, crooked pieces.
"Piece'a junk!"
He shook it around, squeezed the trigger futilely, then discarded the gun altogether and trotted back to the crate to get another.
Meanwhile, Juke's... henchmen, or whatever they were, charged boldly into the fray. Well, as boldly as could be expected—it was really more like they charged at the fray, then jumped out of the way when both Geoff and Rodolf came rushing through.
"Get the one in the water!" shouted one. "He's on the list!"
And so a couple of them charged for the pond. The others just started assailing anyone who stood still too long—even Big. (This would probably result in absolutely no progress on their part, as they would not be able to even reach above his immense, invincible gut.)
One made for Midian, too, and it didn't look like a fair matchup. The skinny jackal looked about half the weight of his taller, more wolf-like assailant. The resultant brawl, however, was very short-lived.
Big guy swung a tire iron; Midian stepped in close and blocked at his opponent's hand and wrist while kicking him straight in the knee with a gross-sounding pop. Upward palm to the face when he buckled forward to tip him backward; straight kick to the crotch to buckle him again; reverse roundhouse to the side of the head, topkick to the other side of the head, and side kick square into the solar plexus—a lashing all with the same foot, with perfect balance on the other. Inside of four seconds of fighting, Midian's first attacker was left rolling on the ground, trying to collect himself.

There wasn't much time to say anything more than "Woah" before all Hell broke loose. Somewhat contrast for once, to the get in and kick ass attitude displayed by Geoff and Rodolf, Ace ducked down behind an array of crates like the coffee came in. It was an attempt to stay out of sight and analyze what he could have the situation, and it seemed to work. Sneaking and sifting through boxes and boulders, he eventually crawled his way to the source of the shot fired.
He saw his opportunity.
Juke was easy to identify by his vocalized frustration alone (to say nothing of that peculiar smell that clung to him), and when he went to pick up a replacement firearm, Ace was waiting for him. He sprung up like an avenger of the night, giving no warning of his intentions before reaching behind the bat's head in the hopes of slamming it down on the box he so sought.
"AH!"
Through some miracle, Flex was caught off guard by Geoff's armored spindash. Maybe he wasn't expecting anyone in the crowd to be able to do that, or maybe he could only effectively focus on up to two tasks at a time, but either way, the grizzly was unceremoniously toppled to the ground, his BFG falling next to him.
"YOU LITTLE WIENER," he blurted, suddenly aware of his environment once again. Ill tidings for the unicorn, who, while certainly fast, wasn't spindash fast, and a head-on charge wasn't the best approach to a meat miracle like Flex. With his mighty hands, he erected himself steadfast, and faced the unicorn with a soul piercing glare. His paws reached out for-- what else, the unicorn's grandiose head-fluff, made to clutch two hands full, and step to the side to hurl him to the moon with a fearsome cry of "GYYEET OUTTA HEEERE!"

I really wish I had a better idea than this.
That was the singular thought pounding through the blond sand cat's head as her attention went to the loudly raging grizzly and his soon-to-be fast-pitch unicorn. Sprinting forward in completely the wrong direction, she charged at the backside of a dumpy-looking shrew, who seemed too indecisive to do anything but stand there, clutching a board with a nail through one end in his shaking hands. In a succession of quick, lithe hops, she effectively ran up his back, sprung off his shoulders, twisted in midair, and launched herself at the bear's prettier side (see: not the one with his face) full-tilt.
With all the skill of a seasoned decathlete, Tabby leapt from ground level to the Flex's upper back in one graceful bound less than three seconds after first taking note of Rodolf's assault. There, securing herself to the back of the grizzly's neck via a surprisingly solid grasp with her knees, unless immediately and deliberately thrown off, she'd proceed to unload both cans of spray paint into the bear's facial orifices.

Geoff was the bowling ball and the bear had been his pin... and an insane, aggressive pin at that. He showed a sort of bemused grin as he pulled out of the spin, crystal flying every which way as he let it shed. Feet skidded and hips turned as he charged back the way he came, intending for another smack on the bear if he was still recovering. This time, though, he traveled not by revolution, but foot.
It seemed like his companions were already beating him to the punch, however.
With Tabitha latching on to the bear's neck (releasing her torrent of paint while she was at it) and Rodolph almost through with his #1 tactic, it was clear adding one more fighter might just crumble the mountain raging in the camp. The hedgehog sprinted forward, and with only a few more steps...
...passed right by, barely skimming by the bear.
Except now something was tightly held in his hands, Geoff having deemed it another option in the midst of the battle. A big gun.
He adjusted to the weight of the overly large energy-shotgun-cannon-thing that, only moments before, was in the hands of Flex, except now it was glowing threateningly towards the invading thugs. Was Geoff particularly familiar with weaponry? Of course not. Was this idea potentially advantageous? To him, yes, so damn the inexperience.
A finger clumsily found the trigger of the device as he aimed it to the nearest group of chain/bat/baton-wielders, unleashing a blast.

All things told, Rodolf probably would have been more surprised if that tactic had worked. That was the train of thought as he momentarily sailed through the air, and then--
Whumph-sploosh.
Straight into the shallows of the water.
There was a moment's pause, and then he pushed himself to his feet. Muddy and dripping wet, his voluminous hair plastered down to his head, he made a very loud announcement. "The next person who throws me by the hair is going to get a horn straight up their a-- oh, mother." The unicorn's sudden cut-off was due to two reasons; one, the sight of Geoff picking up and clumsily utilizing the firearm. Two, one of Juke's thugs was currently flying in his general direction. He ducked immediately.
This was, of course, Big's doing. It wasn't really an act of malice-- it was more that "chuck it into the water" had worked for the last time he had to get rid of something, back when the robots attacked the base, and so he saw fit to repeat the tactic now. There was absolutely no progress made by those who were attacking him, and so... well...
"Bye bye!" he said cheerily after throwing the hooligan in an impressive arc into the water, as though the living projectile were little more than a football.

Geoff actually managed to blast one of he thugs with the huge, scattering energy blast. The poor guy flailed back into one of his cohorts, who caught the smoldering guy and kept him on his feet, then picked him up, and threw his buddy at Geoff wholesale.
Good friend.
*Poomf*
Meanwhile, Ace slammed Juke's head down into the open crate, and the bat got... a face full of plush foam rubber. The open box had already had two of its weapons pilfered, so most of what was there for him to hit was the padding.
"Mrrmrmf what th—" blurted Juke as he fought to pull himself upright, and gracelessly flung a sharp, spiky-knuckled haymaker at Ace's head.

Ace was just about as flustered as his would-be victim when his stealth attack essentially turned into a stealth hug. Fortunately, unlike Juke, he still maintained the better part of his balance, so any potential KO Blows Juke had to dish out were null and void by a simple step to the left. Making do with what he had, the cat made a grab for his outstretched hand, to grab for the wrist, and yank him over the crate, and hopefully on the ground.
"SHIIIT ON MY AAASS!!!?"
Flex was not having such luck. Flex had spraypaint in his eyes. (Fortunately, it was the green can, so he'd be more okay with that [once he could see again].) For the time being, however, he was pretty pissed, and it showed in the way he balled his and pounded on his own head. Tabby would have to pull some real lucha libre moves to stay on his body the way he was thrashing about, but he was essentially blinded for the moment.

Inching closer on the action while remaining concealed behind cover, Desmond checked his bag for a status report on his supplies. "20 bullets, 5 tranquilizer darts, and a flash bang grenade" he thought. "I obviously came unprepared..."
He pulled out his binoculars again and continued to scan the feud. "I'll wait until there are a few left" he concluded, "Then I'll put the rest down." He took one last look at the fray, finally noticing the Eggman emblems engraved on some of the uniforms. With the new turn of events he began to evaluate his options, and started formulating his plan of attack.

Juke must've really wanted this, because the bugger wasn't going quietly. Even he was too slow to not get his punch trapped by the considerably quicker Ace, and even though he was the weaker fighter, he struggled all the harder and rigidly resisted, pressing himself against the crates. Ace would find that as he pulled on the bat, he also pulled the stacked weapon boxes with him onto his legs, knees, feet, etc. Even as Juke went sprawling over along with the collapsing pile, he wailed at Ace with his free hand's fist of spiked knuckles, punching, kicking, and, yes, biting if given a clear opening at his assailant's arm, while blatantly trying to take his foe to the ground.

It went without saying that the vandalizer of bears was flung off the moment her canvas became a bucking bronco, but with seemingly little effort, she righted herself via a neat aerial tuck and roll, and landed (of course) on her feet.
Her feet, which, it should be mentioned, were moving before they hit the ground. Truly, Tabby knew better than to blindfold a raging bull, and then stick around in the china shop; she was already dashing off in any direction that happened to be away.

Tabby ran just in time to see something dangerous, followed by something blatantly unpleasant. One of the (few remaining active) thugs picked up Flex's dropped weapon, but before he could turn on anyone with it, Midian was there behind him. With a hand planted on the guy's shoulder, the jackal kicked the him in the back of the right leg to drop him to a knee on the ground, seized his gun-holding wrist out straight, and — *Snap.* — Hyperextended the guy's elbow backward with a knee strike. Midian then used the guy's gun to rail him across the side of the head with a solid, meaty thunk, then turned, aimed, and started unloading on the remaining nobodies.
Opposition was already pretty much down to Flex, Juke, and one or two more thugs who looked to be reconsidering their odds altogether. (That is to say, they had taken cover, stopped attacking, and were looking for an escape route.)

Color Ace surprised by the amount of resistance he was getting, but hardly put off by it. Rather, he was all the more determined to end it quickly, even if it meant making a bigger mess out of the crate and its contents. While Juke crawled after him, Ace kept dragging him by the wrist stepping back for every effort the bat made to come forward in an effort to keep him off balance. Admittedly, it wasn't terribly hard, but a big pain in the ass for how he struggled. Finally, when enough distance was put between them and the messy heap of weapons and supplies, Ace reeled his free hand back, and-- pow. Right in the kisser.
Meanwhile, Flex was left letting loose a volley of mighty blows at-- nothing in particular. His eyes still hurt, he still couldn't see, and he hadn't the faintest idea how to make it stop. So, he just kinda stood around, dancing in place, swinging and swearing and grunting on the top of a hill. If nobody saw fit to attack him now, he might as well be going at it like this for the remainder of the day.

Tails, his path to the boxes interrupted by the inbound wildfire from flex, had instantly dodged his way down to one of the various hummocks and pieces of debris in the sand, where he hid, ears flattened down against his head and tails tucked down between his legs to minimize his silhouette. As flex's attention turned away from him, he hurtled towards the nearest sandstone lump and hurdled it, retreating to avoid stray fire once more as he dodged closer and closer to his worked.
Coop, who had hitherto refrained from making his presence know, took this opportunity to rush two thugs from one of the shady upper corners of the lagoon, grabbing for their necks, made to slam their heads together like he was trying to discover the higgs boson.

Mako had been distracted by keeping a careful, wary eye on the proceedings of the would-be attackers. It was only as things began to cool down (aside from the noises that the large bear felllow was making) that he realized something. ... There was still someone, supposedly on their side, who was in the water.
Who, rather unlike himself, would likely have a very hard time breathing.
"... oops," the fish muttered in a low voice. His mouth (and most of his head, really) was actually below the surface of the water at this point, and so this came out as a little 'blub'. The shark looked at the general direction that Shadow had tumbled into the water, made a quick note of it, and ducked the rest of his head below the surface. For a second, thanks to the way he went under, his big ol' tail was above the water for a brief instance, and then was gone.
It took a second to adjust his eyes to the difference in lighting conditions, and then he took off like a fishy bolt towards where he could only presume Shadow was.
Rodolf, meanwhile, saw a golden opportunity, and summarily planned to take it. Still quite a soggy horse, he stepped deliberately forward and cracked his knuckles. As soon as Tabby had cleared off, he took a quick note of Flex's... er, strategy(?) for punching. He then walked calmly over to Big.
The tremendous feline cocked his head, looking at the unicorn.
"You. Big-cat-guy." Big smiled and nodded, despite the fact that he wasn't really addressed by name. "You threw that guy like he was a baseball just a second ago." Rodolf gestured towards the water, where Big had thrown his hapless victim, and then at Flex. "Throw me at the giant angry bear."
Big paused. He blinked a couple times, and then: "Okay!"
A second or two later, unless Flex moved very fast, he would have a unicorn flying, foot-first, roughly aimed at the area of his face.
