Midian expounded upon the situation. "'Eggmanland' is being constructed right now inside the old capital. It is a fortress of sorts, but still... very, very under construction. Not very secure yet. Just dangerous." The jackal leaned back, resting his hands on the ground behind him, and looked upward thoughtfully. "That's where he stays now—most of the time. But his operations are everywhere. Really, everywhere. South Island has more natural resources, you know? So Gigalopolis is his main manufacturing center in the region, to make use of them. But, I think you all got a good look at that place yesterday, hm."

“wooooooo YEEEEEEAH!”

A slightly smoking, slightly-more-charcoal-grey-than-usual mass of feathers dropped out of the sky, and crashed into the sand some meters away from the fireplace. There was a poomf and a splash of sand, then silence.

For about three seconds.

“Hah. HaHAHAhahaahahahaaagh. Heh. Hahah. Gonna miss that, aren’t you, you stinking greasy piece of... hahah.”

The gigantic figure attempted to haul itself up on its elbows and then gave up. Poomf.

“Hahah. Woo. That was a good one. Thaaat was a good one. Heheh.”

“Yeah.”

Eventually, Coop emerged from the shallow crater he had created in the sand.

“Hey,” he said, a gigantic, slightly mad grin on his face, “heeeeey! What’s up?"

"Looks like it went well enough from here," murmured Midian in reply, watching Coop with the same kind of morbid fascination with which one would lock eyes upon an approaching wild grizzly bear.

Tepidly, he waved once.
