It pains me to say this, but we're done. Thank you to those who have participated and followed along these many years. We had a lot of fun, and your contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.

Strangers and visitors of the future, please respect what is ours. If there is anything in the form of writing or rules you'd like to borrow for your own RP, please e-mail me on the gmail account "onsoku" for permission. Chances are I'll grant it if you are a nice, intelligent person, and agree to just a few small stipulations regarding proper crediting method. But please, leave our characters alone. All fan-made, original, non-SEGA characters, character art, and concepts remain property of their respective creators. Please show respect and don't try to take any of them for your own use.

I hope that some of us will be able to move on and have some more fun writing hobbies in the future. No matter what, we'll stay in touch, and this group will live on, even if it has nothing to do with RP.

I love you guys. God bless.

Fenn, resisting the urge to pocket shiny things (if only because the game of Ring Scavenge got a mite crowded), followed their leader into the vacated bridge. Gazing around at the numerous monitors and snacks, the panda looked a little confused. "Well, uh... There definitely used to be a crew here." After stating the blindingly obvious for the sake of setting the mood, Fenn cast his eyes upon Tyra, eying her snacky acquisition with a frown.

It was possible he had plans previously to swipe it, too.

Waving it off as irrelevant ( "You'll be mine another day, Chippity Chomps..." ), he looked upon the miniature handheld computer, picking up to give it a more detailed examination. "You look kinda interestin'... watcha got fer me, I wonder..?"

Having cut his way (in every sense of the term) to the front, Geoff had been the first to arrive at the bridge, a steady trail of water, crystal, and machinery ending at his feet. With the room notably empty, the hedgehog was preoccupied with excavating one-half of a metal claw that somehow managed to get lodged between a couple of his quills. It's previous owner was probably a scattered, unrecognizable mess back in the depths of the hall.

One wet sounding removal later, it was discarded with a brief sigh of relief, Geoff idly scratching in the now empty space as he approached Fenn once more. The emptiness of the room was disconcerting, that was for sure, but the panda at least seemed to be having some sort of headway on what to do next now that there were no more ring-powered forces in their way.

"Whatever you're going to do, ya probably should make it quick," he suggested, his casualness starting to fade as the desertion of the crew became a bit more apparent the longer he stood there. His eyes found the windows and the darkened waters they held back, a flash of memory coming forth concerning another Eggman-made facility and the fate that had befell them then, more unsettling possibilities starting to form.

The handheld computer Fenn found was left with a menu showing a list of what looked like robot callsigns. The last thing selected was to dispatch "E-2000" to the bridge. There was an error log onscreen as well, showing that a "connection could not be established" and that it was retrying—probably owing to the radio jamming going on. However, continuing to read down, he'd find that the connection had been established, and the robot dispatched.

They had gone underwater, and away from the jamming. All the wireless features of the ship, including communications with the robots aboard, were now working.

Meanwhile, Pax would find little of apparent interest on the ship's screens—just the sort of status reports, navigational data, instrumentation, and other things one would expect. The most obvious terminals were the captain's seat, which had a small console; the helm, which had a yoke, pedals, a big row of throttle controls, and piles upon piles of instruments, screens, and camera views from all over the exterior of the ship; another seat with multiple joysticks and screens (gunnery?); yet another seat, which looked to be communications, judging by its keyboard and headset and more conventional computer-like interface; and so on, and so forth. Notable was that the bright orange, plastic keyboard was of a clumsily large size, as was the headset hanging next to it; perhaps it was built with one of Eggman's robots in mind. After all, he would have never intended any living thing to pilot his creations, even if he built them in that kind of way and surrounded himself by robots that imitated lifelike behavior.

Ivan was very like-minded to his mercenary friend and pretty much stopped to collect rings whenever applicable as well. The man had a family to feed, after all! Can't have them chewing on his boat. He collected as many as he could with getting in Casey's way and stuffed them in his coat pockets. Finally, though, he found his way onto the bridge as everyone was investigating the computers and equipment.

He didn't say a word as he looked around. With the exception of the invaders, the bridge was unoccupied. Ivan couldn't help but wonder if that was unusual for these kinds of vessels..

During the attack of the various robots, Avatar felt pretty useless. Punching them would probably hurt her more then her target, and even the fins on her arms could probably do little more then scratch the paint. Sure she was a decent fighter. Against an iron-skinned robot though, she was basically just the average person with knives. With a frustrated sigh, the fish climbed out of the water and followed the group into the bridge.

Once she got there, she thought about collecting the scattered rings, but the scavengers had already swooped in. She didn't really feel like fighting with the three boys. Plus, the piranha didn't really feel as if she deserved them right now. After all, she hadn't really done anything. So instead, she leaned up against a console, and withdrew a bag containing a cigarette and lighter from her pocket. With a sigh, the fish put the white stick in her mouth and lit it - depositing the bag back into her pocket.

"Hell, all this group really needed was Pax, Casey, Geoff, Lakita... and maybe Ivan.." Avatar muttered. She then paused for a moment, thinking about what she had just said. The piranha breathed out a cloud of smoke before continuing with her thought. "Surely onna the others coulda done what he did anyway. Really, the rest of us aren't really needed at all."

A few seconds later, Casey finished hoovering up everything of value and passed through the door as well, just in time to hear Avatar's gripe.

"Yeah, y'look real cool an' useful standin' there complainin' and smokin'," blurted the hog with a disapproving look worthy of a dad. "Seriously, go make yerself useful and go stand watch, yeah?" He pointed back out the door. "We gotta keep Gardyner covered 'til he's got this thing figured out."

It had not been Latika's intention to go scooping up rings, even if the corridor was very briefly filled with them, but didn't squeal or one away from a friendly stray that came bouncing up to her.

"I collect a souvenir!" she chirped brightly, as slipped the thing over her hand, admiring her make-shift accessory for a moment.

Somehow managing to avoid Avatar and Casey's repartee, the porter at last emerged onto the bridge, staring around the massive room in wonder. She strolled around the room peering invasively at each screen or display or console she passed, running her hands along task chairs and panels, and brushing, but not pushing any buttons or switches. Her eyes were wide, and her jaw slightly agape; it was a safe bet that she'd never seen anything like it before.

"Oh! Someone is was play Galactiga!"

... Well. Perhaps nothing so advanced.

Avatar - who's ego had been shrunk back down to size by the boar's remark - just blinked a couple times at Casey. She was actually surprised at his reaction (which was surprising on it's own). Even though the fish was known for being able to read the personalities of others like a book, what happened was something totally out of the blue. She had felt like she was just put into a time-out.

The piranha cast a half-hearted glare at back at Casey before sheepishly scuttling towards the doorway, to do as she was told.

'And don't come back until you've thought about what you did.' She mentally added.

Personalities were not so easily read, and she hadn't been around him quite long enough to read him; Casey was a bright and chipper, jolly big guy through and through, but he took his job very seriously, and wouldn't tolerate a naysayer or a Negative Nancy. Truth be told, he was very easily dragged down by bad attitudes, and didn't want to let one cast its ugly shadow across the...

"Oh, lookit, some bounced in here!"

There was a ring under a chair. He was grabbing it.

Suffice to say money improved his mood quickly, even if it was the equivalent of a big, shiny dime.

His thorough search through the smaller consoles coming up fruitless, Pax was quick to move on to the important-looking monitors and system displays.

"Alright, first step," he said to himself, thinking aloud as he leaned over the chairs to examine the computers. "Finding the radar controls, and shutting them down..." Skipping the helm and apparent gunner's seat, Paxton stopped in front of the computer with the large orange keyboard and focused on it. Seating himself in front of it, he took the panel's controls in-hand and began to explore the systems that the console gave him access to. "Second step...disconnect the ship from Chimera's network..."

His fingers tapped away at the oversized keys as the screen cycled through windows and displays. The dog's eyes were focused intently on what was in front of him, and aside from his rapid keystrokes, he was stock still in the chair. "Third step," he continued to whisper, growing quieter as he mumbled aloud, "neutralize the crew...and fourth...inform HQ that the radar has been disabled...then..."

Suddenly, the sounds of typing ceased.

"I think I got it..."

Pax indeed selected the most versatile console for accessing the ship's internal workings. Pretty much every single thing he was looking for was there, with just a little searching, but needless to say, there were also a few obstacles. The radar functions of the ship were easy enough to shut down without much hassle at all (it was already on standby, anyway, since the ship had gone underwater where radar was useless), but authentication was required for the things that would alter the system and how it received commands. He would soon find that he could not simply tell the ship with a few keystrokes to stop receiving orders from HQ. Similarly, the robots crewing the ship could not easily be deactivated; that too prompted him for authentication. It would require the correct credentials, or an interface already logged into that kind of access.

Down the hall, Avatar would begin to hear some suspicious noises—something like a hatch opening loudly, the sound of electric motors whirring as if to move a machine, and, soon, several powerful, weighty footsteps. There came a whining sound, almost like a jet engine of some kind. Something was going on back in the chamber they had come from.

Casey, out of rings to hoover up and not savvy enough with computer systems to be much help, had wandered out of earshot of the corridor, standing next to Tyra, and staring at the screen.

Chips. Movies. Drink cups.

"So there's a real crew aboard this thing somewhere," he murmured silently, "and they haven't gotten off... unless they're real good swimmers."

He turning and looking every which way as he walked, his meandering eventually carried him to where the hole with the ladder was. He produced a flashlight from his belt and shined it down, investigating cautiously, squinting, bushy dark-blue brows furrowed.

For a moment or three, Fenn stood there, investigating the handheld and its many logs of information regarding dispatched robots. Of course, the E-2000 listed was the one that caught his eye the most, especially given the fact that it was apparently dispatched quite recently. The only question burning in his mind was... where was it?

As if to answer his question, his ears detected what sounded like giant's footsteps coming from their previous location, amongst a clamour of other mechanical noises that hadn't sounded any less threatening.

It appeared that whatever "E-2000" was probably just found out where they all were.

Scowling, Fenn brought the device up close and began to fiddle around with the handheld, trying to see if there were any options available to call off whatever was about to be upon them. As he searched for anything helpful, he shot a quick glance over to Pax, motioning for him to come closer. "Hey, chief...? Weeee prob'ly got trouble..."

Standing in her own private cloud of smoke, Avatar was indeed keeping watch - as she was told to. She had almost forgotten what it felt like to be treated like angsty teen - not that she would ever admit missing it. Casually slouching further down the wall, the fish held the cigarette in her mouth.

Just as her mind started thinking about how boring this was, she heard it. Footsteps. Heavy footsteps. Out of curiosity, she took a couple steps forward. Then the jets started.

Avatar hesitated for a moment before calling her warning back into the room. "Yo, everyone! There's somethin' comin down the hall!" The piranha looked back toward the sound, and listened for a moment longer before adding: "I'm gonna check it out."

Without waiting for a response, the fish quickly creeped toward the sound, and peered into the chamber they were in previously.

Every "Access Denied" or "Authentication Required" message that popped up elicited a low, agitated groan from the hacker. He leaned back in his seat, hand over his mouth in a pose of quiet contemplation, until Fenn called out for him, followed by Avatar's warning. "Eh...?"

Seeing the piranha girl going off by herself, Pax was quick to jump out of his seat and start calling to her, "Woah, woah! We don't know what's aboard this thing, don't go off by yourself! It's too risky, so--"

"Oh, just shut up already. She'll be fine. Not like she's a wuss who runs off an' hides whenever there's trouble," Tyra interrupted, looking Paxton square in the eyes and taking on an accusatory tone of voice, which was enough to make the dog quiet down and shrink away a bit, mumbling, "I--uh, I..."
