Inside the elevator lobby, Desmond took notice of the rabbit on serval brawl amounting to a fit of violence between newly formed enemies as he continued to take sips from his cup of StarChao coffee. Ace's revelation of withdrawal from the group struck a chord in the mind of the ferret, though his reason didn't seem that liable, in hindsight the ferret would be willing to listen to Ace's true explanation if he willed it (instead of beat him to death as for Ivan).

Whatever the rhyme or reason, Desmond vouched to stay out of affairs until the conflict was truly deemed as over. Either that, or until things got too far out of hand.

It was a mad, scrappy fight-- for what, who knew. Maybe Ivan was just trying to earn brownie points with his new employer. But it was clear that he was a remarkably quick for someone who never didn't have a flask at his side, and that he had no intention of backing off even when the option was there. That made things a lot more complicated than they needed to be, but it was still simple enough.

As it was, the leeway wasn't there to be had-- between their own natural difference in height, and how Ace was actually lifting Ivan off the ground by his ear, it wouldn't matter if the hare locked his leg behind the cat's or not. Since his feet were unable to touch the ground, Ace's were, it could only ended up backfiring when the serval pulled almost the exact same move; a mighty, waist-torquing hip-toss with the ground as the final destination.

A shocking amount of heft was put into the toss, but even if it all went as it logically could, Ace wouldn't make another move against the hare unless he continued to provoke it. It was over as soon as Ivan wanted it to be.

Avatar let out a small chuckle at Casey's comment. Oh, did she know how true that was. Not only did she live by it herself, she knew that most other people don't go around spouting 'friendship forever' speeches - let alone actually sticking to it - like kids' shows lead most to believe. In a matter of seconds, someone can turn from your greatest ally, to your worst enemy - and this fight proved it.

But then, if Ace is going back to Rock - meaning he was with him before - doesn't that mean he is being loyal? Are they possibly friends? Is that what a real friend would do? Follow someone, even if they're digging they're own grave?
The thought rolled through her head, an just for a second, she envied Rock, for having a friend like that. Just for a moment though.
The only people I need are Me, Myself and I. Friendship is trivial.

The sound of the rabbit being tossed to the ground snapped the fish back into reality.
Is the fight over? She thought curiously. One thing that Avatar learned from living in Westside, is not to interrupt two guys fighting, because even when it seemed like it was over, it usually wasn't. Not that she wanted to stop it. The piranha was actually quite interested in how this would end. She had her bets on Ace though. Even though the rabbit may look faster then him, the cat's natural height and strength - not mentioning the fact that he was also pretty fast - would most likely win out in the end.

It was surprising how long Geoff sat still. Yes, there had been a sign of movement from him between Latika's accusations and Ace's weak explanation, but thanks to the fiasco with the rabbit and serval, whatever the hedgehog had intended to do next was put on hold. Yet, thanks to just everything, it appeared he was boiling up with a storm of anger that threatened to be violently unleashed at any moment as his eyes drilled holes into the ongoing fight.

Finally, he appeared to visibly snap, and with a rush, his chair clattered back and he was upon the two fighters within seconds time. However, if there was any intention to back up either one, particularly Ivan, it seemed to be completely absent as he abruptly tried to force himself between the two after whatever result occurred after Ace's throw, crystal-armored limbs attempting to split the duo.

If successful, he would secure his position in the space between hare and cat, throwing sharp glances both ways at the contenders.

Getting between the two would be no difficult feat, because Ace was successful in tossing the hare, who proceeded to crash into some now-vacant chairs, knocking them aside as he rolled. He was pretty quick to get up though. He didn't continue his assault however.

Namely because there was a hedgehog in his way. His jaw clenched as he let out a long exhale through his nose. He wasn't tired. Just... annoyed.

He looked at Ace again, glaring holes through Geoff in the process.

"I can already tell yer gonna be a problem," He said reaching into his coat again, unsheathing his trusty sword, "Are we just gonna let'im... walk away? After declarin' that he's gonna be an enemy?" He said looking around at the others.

As the fight drew out, Ivan was more and more convinced they had to nip this in the bud. He was not going to be a small problem later. Personal, or not.

"Will everyone just calm down, please!? Settle down!" Pax shouted, still frozen in his spot. This was too much, it had to be stopped now. "No matter what he said, we're not going to...do anything to him, got it?!" he yelled at the hare, his voice shifting between his nervous stutter and genuine outrage. He was angry at Ivan; he had made his best attempt at negotiating with Ace and the pirate capped it off by trying to shoot him. With darting eyes, he turned to peer at the yellow serval past Geoff's crystalline form. There was an anger in him now, but it was directionless, and the borderline-pleading canine from earlier was still in plain view.

"If everyone would just calm down, we can sort this out. We can sort this out, alright? Just...c'mon..."

With a tame interest, Tyra had stopped in place with her chair, and raised an eyebrow at the situation in front of her. It might be over; if it was, it didn't last as long as she figured it would. She didn't open her mouth to speak, she only blinked and shrugged as she moved to the side to lean against the table, watching the event in front of her.

There had been movement. The sudden and pressing need to do something had spurred her to vacate her seat early into the confrontation (like, around the time Ivan had first drawn his pistol), but a lack of any clear direction kept her in place. At several points, the slow loris had lurched forward, only to realize she wasn't quick enough to be of any use anyway; all she could do was watch.

It went without saying that she wasn't particularly attached to any of the group (save the kindly old boar), but it was still with an utterly aghast expression that she looked on, growing visibly ill as the fight progressed with all its commentary and spectators. Several of them seemed far too irreverent, even entertained for Latika's tastes, and she backed away from the group in silence, edging clandestinely toward the doors, with evidently little regard for the GUN agent, or his feeble attempts to smooth this all over.

"I'm only your enemy if you want me to be," he said, standing firm, and stiff as a board. "I'm going to fight for what I believe in. If you wanna stand in the way of that, that's your call. Come at me if you wanna. But I sure as Hell ain't gonna make it easy for ya-- and I think the fighter jets feel the same way."

Oh.

He turned back to the sliding doors with a huff and a sour taste in his mouth. "Oh, yeah," he spoke, nearly rolling his eyes with his voice. "Guess who's got connections now."

And with that, he exhaled solemnly and marched his way towards the exit. There wasn't any point in sticking around now that they knew whose colors he was wearing. "I'll call them off when I hit the bottom floor. If you still wanna try and pull a fast one, be my guest. After all," he added grimly. "I can't really know what it's like to be a member of Chimera if I don't get stabbed in the back when I'm trying to play nice."

The look in Geoff's eyes seemed to scream he was fully prepared to lurch forward and strangle the cat as he retreated away from the scene, but the partially rock-encased hedgehog remained cemented where he was, just letting the serval leave without a word or insult given. Really, beyond the frustration, he was just sad... sad about the fact that he had held the belief Ace wouldn't pull something like this, especially right after they'd given it their all finding him in the first place. Rock had been the one to dump him into the mess of the last few weeks in the first place, so Geoff foolishly accepted a flimsy assumption.

He abruptly turned to Ivan, ripping away his gaze of indignation from the cat's back.

"You really think I was just going to let you try to kill the guy I just hiked my ass halfway around the world for?" he snapped when Ace could be considered out of earshot. "He can go to hell for all I care right now, but I'm not getting out of this thinking I didn't accomplish anything."

The hedgehog's reasoning did little to hide how furious he was with the serval, knowing all too well he was misdirecting it right now. The pirate wouldn't need to take the blunt end of it for much longer, though, seeing how Geoff proceeded to veer off in a crunching of crystal towards the edge of the building, depositing the now-useless rock on the way. His hands would then clamp down on the banister waiting for him there, his face hidden from the others, but seeming to grip the metal tight enough that it wouldn't be a surprise that he somehow bent it inward in the process.

As the situation unfolded, Ivan started to wind down. What with the threat of fighter jets. He had nothing more to say to the alleycat, and simply pushed his sword back into it's sheath, but there wasn't a hint of remorse, either.

The only alternate ending he foresaw was him walking out without mention of possible fighter jets. In the end, this was inevitable. He frowned heavily when the crystalline hedgehog decided to yell at him, and his expression turned to one of exasperation.

"Wasn't goin' fer a kill, and I can't say I really care fer yer blessin'." He said, then looking at Pax, "I ain't gonna apologize, but I'll try ta use a bit more restraint movin' forward." Emphesis on try.

Ivan wasn't gonna be making any friends today, it seemed.

Once the gun was out of the picture Jack didn't step in to stop the hare. She knew right away what he was up to, and couldn't fault Ivan's logic. She didn't agree with it, but it became clear that the fight was over as abruptly as it had started. Her expression remained grim as she watched the cat slither back to the same guy who sent him to Chu-nan, but couldn't be bothered to save him from the crime boss despite having a army at his disposal.

"Rock wont be showing us that much mercy, Ivan." Jack said grimly. Glancing at the hedgehogs back. "We can't afford to be pulling punches, I ain't about to kill anyone, and I don't want us sinking to their level, but we still gotta give this our all, or we wont be makin' a dent."

Ace would find himself bumping straight into Casey's big buddha belly, who, as said before, was pretty much... blockading the doors with his unchecked waistline.

He glowered down at the cat for a second, then looked up to everyone else. "Hey, guys?" he asked with a tone that reeked just a little of cynicism. " Am I really the only one who sees the flaw in this plan?"

He looked back down at Ace.

"Even if you are tellin' the truth, we'd be better off to keep you up here with us, then, since ain't no fighter jet gonna shoot 'n bomb us on your behalf with you standin' here in our midst. So why don't we all take a step back here and look at what we got, huh?"

He rolled his head around on his shoulders as if to limber up.

"Way I sees it, we got somebody who's declarin' alliances with an organization that does a pretty good job of killin' ours. S'much as I like you," he looked back at the cat again, "we got a pretty understandable conflict of interest with just lettin' you go unconditionally, I think."

He looked to Pax, gaze loaded with suggestion, as if to ask for some sort of leaderly affirmation.

"Uh," Ace said with a solitary blink, scratching thoughtfully at the back of his neck. "Y'know that's... Eheh. ...aaaaha good point, actually. But. Iiiiiiiiiuuuh..."

His fist flew between Casey's legs.

"Igottago!"

Casey's reaction was painfully delayed. That is to say that there was the tudd noise of the punch impacting, then the slight walleyed bugging of his gaze, then the slow, creaking bend forward, during which time a sigh-like squeak escaped out his nose.

His gaze redirected hatefully down upon the cat (or where the cat once stood but since retreated from, most likely) as one hand sunk to his groin, and he proceeded to drop onto the ground, half-curled.

*Thump.*

"Hffffnnnnnnnggghhhnnnnnnnngh..."

"Soorryy!" belted Ace from half-way down the nearest flight of stairs.
