The electrifying tension that once sparked through the air, in one short moment, turned into a flood of emotions and memories that everyone - except herself - seemed to share, and the only think the piranha could do was breath a very quiet "Woah". This was the very first time she'd ever seen situations like these not escalate into a full blown brawl. She was almost sure the hedgehog and the monkey would go at it. She was waiting for it, but, it never happened. Instead, the situation took a full one-eighty with that cat's sudden apology. Avatar was completely absorbed into the conversation. Even the monkey's comment to the weasel break her concentration - though, she did laugh on the inside. After the moment was over, there was only one thought rolling through her mind. What the heck have I stumbled into... |

Jam had had to swerve out of the way to avoid running into Rock's backside. He'd stopped. She kept walking. She was around a corner, and out of sight just as quickly as her feet could carry her without sprinting. Unlike her fairer accompaniment, she never even hesitated. |

Jack opened her mouth to say something to the wolverine, but the loris beat her to it. Maybe Jack was going to try and convince her to stay and lighten up. It didn't matter now because it certainly wasn't going to happen, even Jack knew better then to follow after her. When the wolverine stormed off Jack decided it maybe time for all of them to leave, shaking her head she headed down the stairs to gather the others. Geoff passed her, apparently done whatever business he had for Rock. Surprisingly not of the violent verity, again Jack knew better then to bother the hedgehog and let him pass with little more then a nod. As she reached the bottom of the stairs it became apparent Ace found what he'd been looking for, and wasn't coming with. Jack was glad he found himself some happiness in the form of a mole. A ghost of a sympathetic smile appeared just before she turned to look at the pale monkey before he could finally depart. "Lochert!" She called suddenly, with no regard for indoor voice, she raised a hand and pointed a finger at the monkey. Her smile and kindness gone, just anger and a bit of disgust on her face and in her tone. "Yer usin' these people an' spittin' in the face of their talent and dreams while ya do it. Yer gonna Get'em killed hidin' behind them. I hope you have sense enough to stop this before that happens." There wasn't any threat implied or otherwise. She legitimately was worried Rock was going to bring death upon his band mates and the unsuspecting fans. Since that was all she had to say on the matter she started to climb back up the way she came. It was time to go, Chimera wasn't going to be brought down that night. "Time ta move out, Ivan." |

Rock was going out the back door when Jack started crowing at him. "F#%* you too, Jackie! G'night!" came the immediate, but distant, echoey, cheery-and-jovial-sounding response shout from the primate on the opposite end of the room, accompanied by a big, happy wave. The door soon shut with a bang as he, Jam, and the others departed. |

Ace nodded, curiously at ease with Rock's response, despite the sinking feeling it'd probably take another year or three before he got remotely close to Jam's good side. It was a turning point to be sure, but for once, it was of his own choosing, and he was so far from second guessing himself now he'd forgotten the meaning of the term. His thumb eagerly rubbed against Caz's knuckles-- the prospect of rest was sounding unsurpassably awesome right now. ...In no small way supplemented by the inexplicable feeling of eyes boring holes into his backside right then. |

Pax found himself incapable of doing anything but watch the leaders of Chimera waltz off far out of view, and seeing even more members of the group splitting off on their own way. Scratching the side of his head and sporting and uncomfortable grimace, it was starting to hit him that maybe things were beginning to fall apart. "That...isn't how I hoped it would go..." the dog mumbled to himself. He hadn't seen or heard anything, but it did not take an astute eye to sense the bitterness and tension in the air. His vision snapped between the group in the backstage, and Geoff leaving the ballroom. There was so much to do, but it felt like the situation was spiraling off in several directions. With a hard, frustrated stomp on the tile floor, Paxton went jogging up to the few people still lingering around the backstage doors. "Can someone please tell me what happened?" he asked, though it managed to sound much like an outright demand. |

And then, out back, at the bus... "No! No! Lemme go, Laz! Her face needs shut, and I need to do it!" "Listen, we can just drop a bomb on'er truck later or somethin', alright?" pleaded Rock as he caught another of Jam's clamoring rage-lunges by an arm around her waist, and pushed and shoved her toward the waiting travel bus yet again. "That's not good enough!" protested the enraged primate, with another zealous, clawing lunge back toward the backstage access doors. Eventually, she grew weary of her pointless scuffling, and huffed around in the appropriate direction, bus-ward bound. "I am so f**kin' sick," began Jam, seething, as she tromped up the rubber-coated steps. "of all these self-righteous pricks on their high horses thinking they know everything about you and your motives, and by extension, me and mine!" After angrily flinging the rest of her personal affects against the far wall of the bus (and very nearly clocking Shane in the head in the process), the monkey blindly continued her rampage, now a caged rat, pacing furiously back and forth within the confines of the vehicle, rife with raging gesticulation, and occasionally throttling air. "And what the f**k, 'using these people'?! 'Spittin' in the face of their talent and dreams'?!" Her imitation wasn't terribly accurate, and far from flattering. "What an ignorant hick! Never mind the fact that it's my damned band, and you're only here 'cause of me. Never mind the fact that this was all my idea, and I planned it, and if anyone does caught in the crossfire, it'll be because that dumb prairie whore or her holier-than-thou asshole posse came to one of our gigs to start s**t! 'Cause as hard as it is to believe, we're only there to..." Et cetera, et cetera. Clearly, it was going to be a fun drive. Hopefully, the band's next stop wasn't far... |

Capsule Troopers began walking out through the ballroom, some emerging from previously unseen hiding spots, others just leaving the backstage area. "I can't believe he didn't have us shoot'em," mused one aloud. "Yeah, I totally thought I was gonna hafta shoot that little guy. I thought he had, like, some kind of violin gun in that case," replied the other. "That was a guitar case." "... Are you sure? I thought he was like that guy from that movie, El Matador." "That was El Conquistador. And it was a guitar case." "Your mom was a guitar case." Such was the nature of the conversations being held by the heavily-armed robots as they passed on through. One stopped near Ace and Caz, however, and gave them a long look, as if thinking something. "Ace Crawford?" it asked most inquisitively with a gesturing point. |

Never a dull moment; even when things were winding down, Ace somehow found himself with the attention of a stranger. For a moment he wondered if this was more along the lines of how things would be from then on, but the need to actually answer the question overrode that train of thought. He turned around to face the stray CT, lending his partner in crime to do the same. "Yeah?" he asked simply enough. |

"Come with me if you want to sleep," said the Capsule Trooper in an overly-dramatic, exaggeratedly accented voice, looming at them with gun-equipped arm raised dynamically. "But no really, c'mon," digressed the robot much more plainly as he led them out of the ballroom, "I'll hook you two up with the hotel-people for a room." |

There was a moment or two when the Crawford in question suddenly felt very uncomfortable by the sudden whiplash of mood the CT brought about. Maybe he was just caught off guard, still expecting the worst from Rock, or Geoff, or really anyone on the field right then. But Caz was all too happy to accept it... plus, she actually got it. A sniffle and a swipe of her eyes later, she smiled warmly and nodded. If anyone had a lot to take in, it was her. "Ah... Y-yeah, thanks. I really 'ppreciate it." His thumb ran along the mole girl's knuckles again. "Sleep sounds pretty good right about now, huh?" "Mmm," the mole conceded. "Think it'll be kinda hard, now, though. Don't you think?" Somehow, Ace managed to grin and sigh in relief at the same time that he looked to be in some wily kind of thought process. "Well... I guess I could use a shower, first..." Not once, not twice, but three times she blinked, her heedful expression betraying her poorly-hidden smile. "Oh-- oh yeah, totally, I do too... ...Right?" "Oh yeah, you totally stink, Caz." And just like that, she was the happiest Caz in the world. |
